EVTCHRs are the sprites that appear during events, when a character uses a pose that doesn't exist within the main spritesheet for that character.
If you're trying to replace those in the EVTCHR.bin, you would want to open up EVTCHRview, export the sheets with the EVTCHRs you want to replace, open a graphics editing program like GraphicsGale, (It's free) open up the sheets for the sprites you want to add to the EVTCHR sheet, use a lasso tool or selection (whichever's easier) paste into the EVTCHR spritesheet, and then add the custom pose from there (use an unedited version of the EVTCHR sheet as reference) You're going to have to sprite yourself either way, if not you can request that someone do it for you in the sprite request thread, but as I've said, there's no guarantees of anything if you choose to do that.

Non-FFT Modding / Tactics Ogre modding

As you may or may not know, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (SNES, PSX) (and its remake for PSP that's FAR superior to WoTL) and the GBA game Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis were made by the same individuals who made FFT, in particular Yasumi Matsuno, Hitoshi Sakimoto, and Masaharu Iwata. There's a forum dedicated to TO and some people over there are in fact interested in modding the game, referenced by the links following:

My question is this: Would anyone in particular be up for trying to get our two communities to work together on possibly making hacking tools/mods for Tactics Ogre? I have all three games and I would be willing to extract the files necessary to be examined and looked through; these guys have already figured some things out and a few successful Japanese hacks exist, but they can't seem to get the tools to work or get access to them, since they don't have anyone over there who knows Japanese.
I feel like this is a potential gold mound just waiting to be mined, and we could probably find out how to use the Japanese tools in order to create mods for those games just like FFT.

Does anyone know how to access 0xE4, the byte that controls the age of characters in the Brave Story?
It would be really helpful not to have to go and set ages to a set amount but currently that's what I'm doing.

^This. I would recommend just using one of the unused abilities (above Frog Attack) or modifying another ability if you're in WoTL. Unless your intention is to convert the Wizard into something else, that is.

I don't even mod WoTL for the PSP anymore, there's no way I would even try to mess with the mess that is the IOS/Android version. Though, being able to extract the sprites and somehow implement them to this game/WoTL WOULD be something...
I've messed with the gold+light blue before and it simply doesn't come out the way I want it. Which is why I decided to request it instead xD

Use one of the blank abilities above Frog Attack.
If you're playing WoTL, you'll have to replace another ability.

Don't forget to change the attack animations. 01-00-00 is for magic charge + weapon strike, 07-00-00 is for weapon strike w/o magic charge.

There's an ASM that gives a raw +130 JP whenever you enter a battle, but it's still kind of glitchy.

The Daemon sounds very OP o.o
Aren't Eschaton and All-Ultima (both are Divine Ultima in JP) the same ability though?
Are there even that many Ultima-esque looking abilities in the game? (I know about the weapon Ultimas and the Scion skill, but are there others?)
And isn't Grand Cross already one of the Neukhia's abilities? Or are you changing the Neukhia's abilities too?

I'm thinking that too. This is the 5th time I've had to repatch the ISO, now working on the 6th.
Yeah it seems to trigger mostly when there's monsters on the map from what I've found. The good news is that the job wheel doesn't freeze anymore...
Thanks for that link! I'll post my results when I'm done if I haven't found the culprit.

Not a problem man! The community may have dwindled down a bit but it's still being supported and so you never know! And well the best thing I can say is just test, test, test. The more you test, the more you'll know what works and what doesn't. And it would be nice, wouldn't it? Except Galaxy Stop is too OP for the player to have ;) I know the struggle of not having much time myself but pushing myself to complete a functioning patch is in itself an inspiration :)

So it turns out it's NOT in fact the PSP emulation at all that's doing it - I'm running my patch on psXFin and each time I go into END, either Delita Chapter 1 or a ??? Hydra that are present on the map seem to trigger a long string of illegal physical address/opcode glitches which freeze emulation, similar to the problem the PSP had.

Over and over I keep getting:

And it just hangs.
Is this due to ASM or what do you think could be the cause? This is very annoying and putting a huge cramp on me being able to test patch results.

A restoration druid in WoW has at least 3 different Healing Over Time spells that heal for different durations and different values, all of which can be reset by casting a standard heal.

Hey, no problem! Making a patch, personal or project, always takes a lot of work. I'm about 50-60% done with my patch and it's taken me 4-5 years (It doesn't usually take that long, don't worry!) It sure is hard, but don't be afraid to get involved, ask questions, browse the site, and siphon information. Making a patch can be a rewarding thing and can let you see SRPGs in a whole new light.

As far as a stacked Regen effect, you could potentially modify one of the unused effects to have similar effects to Regen, then use the ASM to change the Regen heal percentage and you could have something remotely similar. But if you wanted to stack the same status 3 separate times, without some hard hacking, I'm not sure if that would even be possible. Even if you found a way to stack the Regen status (without creating a new status), they would all activate at the same time due to the way those types of status work.

And yeah, like I said, it wouldn't really be feasible considering sprite limitations, and it would need very heavy ASM to even reach a proof-of-concept point, which I doubt many would consider helping with since it isn't really feasible.
In FFTA, there's a job class known as the Morpher which can adopt various other creatures' abilities by "Morphing" with them, an ASM hack of that could potentially be possible, but you would REALLY need to get your hands dirty as well as probably getting others to help in that area, but even then you would have to consider: How badly do you want this?

Once again, I hope I could be of at least a small bit of help!

Easy answer: It could TECHNICALLY be possible, but you're going to need to really get your hands dirty and learn ASM hacking and status effect values.

Emmy, your Raw JP Gain +130 is a little bit glitchy. I tested it out on a fresh ISO file and when I enter a battle, after a unit uses an ability (of any kind) they DO gain the 130 JP, but their job is reset to 1 with only 130 JP gain. It does this every time you enter a new battle.
