How hard would it be to create a new game+ for this?

This seems like the right forum to post this, if it wasn't, could a moderator please move it to the correct one?

Anyway, my idea sounds simple in my head: once you finish the game, the credits don't roll and instead you get an event that sends you back to the Osborne Monastery, but you keep everything, even the map open, and all events get resetted so you may complete the game again.

It would take a fair bit of ASM coding. Basically you'd need a routine that resets all events, removes the special units out of your party without resetting their stats, and places you back at Orbonne... maybe Osbourne Monastery would be better. Rock on!

Technically Mercenaries plans to use that as well. If I were to guess resetting events shouldn't be too tricky... Setting the game to read back to scenario 1, should start the whole cycle anew.  Of course this is merely theory.

You mean like second cycle-only bosses, aye? Like you add a special battle that only opens after you have restarted the game.

The idea appeals to me, but first things first we need to find out wether we can make a new game + or not.

^ Or you could just be HAX and dominate as well as you could in vanilla FFT.

Easiest thing is to make the story battle units stay at your level.  Then you wouldn't completely dominate.  Oh, and enemies also would need to be set to equip items randomly based on their levels.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.
