Call of Power: Chapter 1 to 3 / CoP progress Log.

I won't work as much as he does, since I am in my exam week. Oh well.

2011-05-16:

- Got the first revisionned script (1/3) for chapter 1.
- Written a new event script, sent it for revision to 2 persons.
- Started a new event (Cinematic2)
- Nearly finished a little map change (Yuguo)
- Balanced Ch2 Battle1.
- Started to work on Ch2 Battle2.

-Changed the Colossus job :
Collosus now cannot enter water
Lost innate protect
Hold tight mana cost increased by one (2).
Headbutt mana cost increased by two (2).
Stone step is now instant, mana cost increased by 2 (3) and deals damage based on PA, not weapon.
Stone Stare brave reduction changed from 8 to 12. Mana cost reduced to 1. Ct increased to 2. Dosen't follow target
No longer loses mouvement in water.
Now immune to : Don't act, poison, Silence, Petrify. (Giving new powers to ''hold tight and headbutt)
Now halves all basic elements besides fire (L,I,W)
Weak to Fire, Dark and water. (stone explodes when exposed to fire)
Collosus now start each battle hasted, but lost some speed.

Gained a new skill : Rockfall. Causes damage in a line in front of the collosus. Earth-based attack. Deals medium damage, cost no mana.

This is considered a major buff.


-Changed the Daredevil job :

Added a new skill based on random damage.


-Changed the Berserker job :

Added a new skill that deals fire-based damage to a single target.


-Changed the Magus job :

Reduced Hp multiplier slightly.


-Changed the Phaseshifter job :

Augemented Hp multiplier slightly.
Reduced C-EV to 45%


-Modified all jobs : Added 20 mp multiplier to every jobs based on magic. Added 10 to melee jobs.

-Arale now has better AI and weapon. (umad, px?)

-Lesial should now be more difficult.

Hello! In the battles of CoP, you will see a lot of things, but you will also see a special battle and I won't elaborate too much...

To get this section popularity up a bit, I want you guys to make me a skillset for a boss!

About the boss:
-He's going to be a monster, and he will be UNABLE TO MOVE. He was around 5 tiles on each side of him (until the edge of the map). He will have 1 skill that is made by me, and the rest by you. He will be also untargetable, and only killable via other means. He will be accompagnied by minions. he also will have infinite mana and hp and average stats.

About the skillset:
-No self-healing.
-No Opness. (Instacrystal lololol)
-At least 2 of his abilities must have a least one element rattached to it, and 1 of these must be earth.

You have to (please) fill up this form for each skill :
Name:
What it does: (Mini-description)
Range:
Effect area: (0 is 1 square, 1 is 5, ect)
Inflit status: (chance %?)
Ct: (0 is insta, 20 is about 2 of everyone's turns)
Elements:
Prefered formula : (Optional)
Prefered Effect(cinematic) : (Optional)
Anything else :

You have to make 3 or 4 or 5 abilities.
I can pick all of them or separate them by person.

But he uses magic, so he is not only about that. Be creative all you want :-)

Here is the things you could help with if you ever want to!

Coding:
Event editing, event conditionnals. If you're experienced, I want you!

Sprites:I need new sprites, the more I get, the better it is. The most important work is finish the Gospel Sprite.

Balance(FFTpatcher work): I am not so good with this. Comments and tests appreciated.

FFtext (I need help with the names of items, descriptions, a lot are missing): A lot of work but it helps SO much. Correcting my errors and stat errors that are not explained properly, ect.

Graphics: That's working with TILEmolester. Making new icons, changing the map title names (just before the battle, after the formation screen).

Battletesting: Not really needed...

Script : I've got that mostly covered.


I also need help with organisating my FFtpatcher, if someone wants to do that. It's renaming every ability to their CoP counterpart so I can work faster :P It's basicly 3-4 hours of strategic copy pasting. It would speed up my CoP work by at least 15 minutes for each hour I spend on it.

Job tree (I forgot to make one! I would like a detailled one with pictures and ect!)

I din't think of putting this in ''requests'' because I this sprite will actually be used in a patch and it's quite easy to do.

I request something for CoP. It will use a lucavi sprite and it will be mostly immobile, so it's not hard to do. However, I lack skill at pixel art, so I would like help on this, please.

If you have the time and are interested, please PM me, since it's a sprite I don't want everyone to see before it's time.

Hello Friends!
As I rediscover DiabloII, I see it to be more amusing when it's harder. I also like total randomness. I also like competition and challenge. What's up? Im making this a challenge for whoever wants to join.

The rules:
-You must play on Hardcore.
-You MUST follow your rolls.
-You cannot use ATMA or other editors to get items, but you can use it for more stash space. (You can however transfert item OUT, but not IN this file)


The rolls :
Use http://www.random.org/ to check the rolls. Minimal imput is always 1, maximal is... well you can figure it out, it depends on each step.

Step Un:
Thy caracther is:

1 Amazon
2 Assasin
3 Necromancer
4 Barbarian
5 Paladin
6 Sorceress
7 Druid


Step Deux:
Your shall-be most used skill tab :

1 Top (1)
2 Middle (2)
3 Bottom (3)

You must at least respect at 3:1 ratio from other tabs.
Ex : At 40 skill points, you must have 30 points in your skill tab and you CAN have 10 points in the 2 other tabs.

Step Trois:
You shall only use this equipement  :

1 All equips allowed
2 Magic equips
3 Rare equips + Unique Equips
4 Magic equips + Unique Equips
5 Any Socketed items (only for armor, shield, weapon, and helm)
6 Rare equips only
7 Only craked/damaged/ect items.

All possibilities allow set items, crafted items, sockets,charms and also apply to mercenaries equipement.

Step Quatre:
You shall (As soon as possible) get this mercenary  :

1 Any
2 Rogue Scouts
3 Desert Mercenaries
4 Iron Wolves
5 Barbarians

You can use any other mercenaries while waiting for this one.

Step Cinq:
You shall imput /players * and replace * with a number, then press enter  :

Step Six:
You will have this peculiar psychosis on your caracther :

1 Shop hater (You cannot buy anything else than potions, books and scrolls)
2 Hammer phobia (You can't get your items repaired)
3 Socket racist  (You never pick up jewels)
4 Waypoint allergy (You can only get 4 waypoints per act)
5 Number OCD (Pick a number between 1-9, try to get that number in your stats and item stats all the time)
6 Fame seeker (You must attack Unique monsters first all the time, at any risk, save for bosses)
7 Afraid of the dark (You must stack +light radius items over other items)
8 Supersticious (You must carry as much jewels, gems and charms as you can)
9 Gambling addict (You must gamble as much as possible)
10 Nothing (but your caracther name must sound very stupid!)


Step Sept:
You can use this bonus :

1 You can re-roll one step
2 You can choose on one step
3 You can play non-hardcore
4 You can make one exeption to one rule per act passed.
5 You can change your psychosis randomdly after each 2 acts.
6 Nothing.

Hello all. Since I was working hard on S4, I was making no progress on CoP. I am now editing the game again to bring you Chapter 2 : An eye for an eye, Lysay's chapter. However, I've had some concerns by myself and from others that I will awnser here:

1: Are you even motivated?
Sure, I am. I dearly love this projet. It is just time-consuming and my life < my projet, in case you wondered.

2: Do you have the time?
Currently, yes, In the future, way less. I now have a GF (brag brag) so work is hindered quite a bit... But still, I am back and working on it. I don't have a deadline, it is a weakness as well as a strenght.

3: Will you finish this?
I hope so. At minimum chapter 2 I can assure. Future is uncertain.

4: What troubles you?
Since the leave of Voldemort, we have lost a lot of publicity and a lot of members too.
I worry that I won't finish this projet because of the lact of interest from the community, or it's decline, you know.
Those are my current fear : I won't work so hard on this for just 10 persons...

Just giving out some progress...

I am working on CoP chapter 2. Evnchr editing is hell. It took me so much time just to make lysay SIT correctly.
So don't worry about the rest of the errors, but be happy to see this! As soon as the scene is finished, il post it in a video.

Call of Power: Chapter 1 to 3 / [Old] Yet another problem

So, while transfering to chapter 2, I spotted some (ok, major) problems...

1: Lysay will wield Gospel old equipement
2: Lysay will have the player name (or gospel, like here)
3: Don't mind the duplicate Lysay and gafgarion and a lot of units : they should not be there, and it's because of my testing that they are.


I wanted to suggest that :
1: We should not care, since beside axes, they can both wield many things.
2: If I can't find a solution, il just have the initial ''Gospel'' to be ''PlayerName'' and keep it like that for the 3 heroes. It won't affect the script at all.

What do you say?

Hello! Here's a rule-filled game for you!

First off, the is a sorta-rpg based on a map.

Second, I need up to 6 active players (this means once per 1-2 days).

Then, I need them to read this :

Ruless:

Story : You are a FFT caracther looking for a treasaure of great value, hidden in the depts of Mont Irony. What dangers will you face?

To start, tell me you are in and give me your token letter : You will be represented by that letter on the map. Then, you have to choose your class and your stat changes, explained better here :

Main stats (for everyone):

HP : 10
MP : 2
Hpregen: 0.5
Mpregen: 0.5
Defense : 1
Attack : 3
Move : 2
Sight: 2
Special : 1 (This is a special skill making your caracther unique. It uses mana, explained down there.)

Then your class applies (One of these 5)
Knight : +5Hp, +0.5hpregen, + 1 defense.
Caster: + 5Mp, +0.5 mpregen, +1 Special.
Thief: +1 Move, +1 Sight, +1 Attack
Berserker : +2 hp, +2 Attack, -1 Special,  -1 Armor.
Spellblade: +2Hp, +2Mp, +1 Special, -1 Attack.

Then your special mofiers come in. You have 25 pts to spend according to this chart (Adding a point cost)
HP : 5pts for 1HP
MP : 5pts for 1MP
Hpregen: 6pts for 0.5HpRegen, applicable once.
Mpregen: 7pts for 0.5MpRegen, applicable once.
Defense : 9pts for 1Defense
Attack : 8pts for 1Attack
Move : 9 pts for 1 move
Sight: 6 pts for 1 Sight
Special : 10pts one extra special skill, applicable once.

Then your special skill kicks in. At the application of the caracther, you ask me (via posting) if your skill(s) are okay and within norms. You can ask for anything, but rely on mana cost to see if it's good or not. I will give some fair examples at the end.

After your caracther is made, you can wait for the game to start and then play along with people! An example, again, will follow...

Special 1 : Healing touch
 Cost 3 mp. Gives me back 2 hp.
Special 2: Glasses
 Cost 1 mp. Allows me to see at 4 sight for a turn.
Special 3: Stylish Finish him.
 Cost 4 mp. On the next attack, I will deal an extra 2 damage, non-cummulative.

How the game works :

 Mont Irony.... Is a dangerous place. The main challenge, aside from traps, monsters, and trap chests, are the other adventurers. They may betray you at any time to gain an item you have, kill you, set you on a trap... you must beware, but at the same time help yourself, since 2 people are needed to carry the Golden Chest out of Mont Irony. As you progress on the map, your ''SIGHT'' skill you provide you with information about your surrondings, as they will be described each time the map is updated (in the post below this one). From there, you will ask the Kokojo to move you, accordingly to your move skill, to a certain point, and he will update the map, or start a fight for you with your fellow adventurers, or even tell you what your actions did. But you must be carefull...

Resume:
-You can attack anyone, anytime. The battles follows a simple result of : Guy2Hp - (Guy1Attack - Guy2Defense + Modifiers(Magic))
-You see as far as SIGHT and MOVE vertically or horizontally only. Not diagonally.
-You will have choice to make. Express them the more clearly possible in your post.
-Have fun, ask questions if you want to.
-The game will start when the players wil be there and follow a 24h pattern per round. That means you use your move action once per day, not cummulative. A timer will be set up when all will be ready for a better understanding.
-Last of all, perfoming ''actions'', such as oppening/closing a chest, or a door, cost one move.

For call of Power, I need sprites.

I know I should keep to my section, but this will get more publicity and I can talk to more people.

So, what I need, in short, is this :

-Someone to finish the Gospel sprite that Jimmy can't really finish actually.
-Someone to modify the sprite of Rena (Or Lysay) for a slight change. (Mostly a face and hair transplant)
-Someone to make 2 frames of a Lucavi-sized caravan, that will be ''attached'' by event editing to a chocobo.

So, since fixing CoP 1.2 will not require SO much work, I won't work that hard anyway, so Il add 0.01, not 0.1.

It is simply a fix of CoP. 1.2 with some changes that will make the game better, I hope.

And so, I plan to:

-Fix stone clouds to have no sprite.
-Mari already killed most of the typoes, so I am happy and will implement them.
-Change the Puppet battle to be more exiting and less DON'T MOVE RAPE. (While still keeping the door objective)
-Make the last boss Harder.
-Try to fix the patch problems.

I have 3 days to complete this, it should be okay.

Call of Power ; Chapter One

Hello everyone, this is an update to CoP. It is not major but it's quite the good news. The size has been reduced by 5, the game can be played with pSX and it means a lot more people can play. Of course 1.4 is really about to get edited soon, for the better, with more balance, but this has caused me to lose so much time I just could't not post it.

And two more words...
- There are 4 hidden objets. All of them can be found via Move-Find-item. The first to get each one of the items, gets a special prize (each of the 4) He must have a screenshot of the object being found. The prizes... are secret. Until of course, I tell them to everyone.
- There is one very very special hidden objet, too. It's useable and not made to be taken seriously. But you'll never find it! MUAHAHAHA!



Whoa, it's been quite a ride. One year on FFH and still nothing good out from me! Well I finally buckled down and...
there we go, CoP is out! I cannot express the amount of JOY in my heart right now! I feel like a bumblebee..or something!

It has been an awesome ride with all of you guys; if I were to try and thank everyone that helped, it would be almost impossible;
because the list would be too long, but I will make sidelines for : Eternal248, FFmaster, Mav, Lasting_Dawn, and Jimmy. They really helped to make this project (or at least put a heartbeat in it!)

So, are you waiting for the download button? Yeah. I guessed that too. Well before you delve into it, here are a few warnings;
- Telepath and Gospel sprites ARE NOT DONE YET. I will upload them as soon as I get them. I felt the pressure to upload this.
- CoP can, and will be, unfair, at times.
- CoP is still not fully tested. You might see some errors and things that make no sense, feel free to tell me about them.
- CoP may have some spelling and grammatical errors.
- The last boss battle is incredibly hard, at times.
- DON'T FEEL BAD TO SAVESTATE IN-BETWEEN BATTLES! The way CoP works, I can't put in many save points!
- I did not change the intro text typoes yet.

A few tips: (In spoilers, if you want no help, don't look.) ;
Gospel having Tactics + Synergy can be a BEAST. Equip robes on him too.


It is possible to do cheap combos in this game, especially using 2 classes. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" title="Wink" />


Move-Find Items can be really helpful, look for them.


Everyone gets 25JP per action. Using spillover JP, you can master classes very quickly, or get some techniques for your guys.
