I was thinking of making a Sahagin for my patch, but I ran out of sprites.

Which version?  I've seen them look like lizards, fish, and turtles, if I remember correctly.

I'd do the fishy kind since a Sahagin is supposed to be a fish man.

The ship on the port map playable, with a bunch of those swarming in.

Ah, the awesomeness.

Still, it would be a good replacement for the squid enemy, at the least.

Hmm? But aren't Mind Flayer's as classic as FF itself? It would be a travesty to remove those time honored... monsters.

sadness can be turned to delight.
A nation destroyed cannot be restored,
the dead brought back to life."

Sahagin and Mindflayers were both prominent in FF1, plus they are both ripped from D&D.

Eat the birds or pigs.  Does anyone really care about using them in a "non-classic" patch?

The game could use another "swimming" monster.  One isn't diverse at all.

Imo, fft needs flan, (human-like) skeleton, classic zombie, bats, wolves and tonberries.

Bats and wolves?  Coerls I see, but not wolves.  Skeletons and zombies are staple monsters in most RPGs, but I definitely agree with  Flan and Tonberries.  Hm... could turn the ghosts of FFT into the traditional zombies.

There are bats and wolves in every FF except Tactics.
I'm planning on converting the Pigs into flans, and birds into the hawk-like cockatrices from the earlier games.
Human Skeletons are also a must.

Mayhaps.

Also, there's something that's been bothering me for a while that I want to say.

Ever since my lodging here in FFH hotel, I have been spriting only on fft style alone. That style in particular, for being simple, boring to make, as well as extremely time consuming, has been progresively decaying my spriting skills. I realized that after going back to the TSR community today, and pixeljoint.
This doesn't mean im gonna stop all this, fuck no. Instead, I will just be doing some 'excercise' to try get back in 'shape'. As for my fft proyects, it will only be a small delay, so no need to worry.

I could continue my GM Mario game proyect, or another one I had about converting Earthbound enemies into FF6 style. (did like 7)

For now, im starting with a regular FFT dragon.
(Keeping it FFT related in order to post progress)

Dammit, it feels so fucking good to start doodling freely once again lol.

Are you trying to make dragon standing with two legs and have two hands (I think) instead of standing with four legs like current FFT dragons?

Cool. I look forward to seeing how that turns out.

BTW, nice to see another GM programmer! ^_^

I never did really like the original dragon in FFT. Seems like a smart plan Smash. You need to do what makes things interesting so that you are still having fun and not just quitting.

Indeed Vanya, yet I consider myself a GM beginner though.. Only excelling in graphics. :p

For my first and only GM proyect, it's a Mario fangame of sorts.. Started on it with the platformer tut, and now a year later, it feels exactly like NSMB but with more features, the engine being developed by me from the start after months of trial and error.

Anyway

Bangaa progress report:

This back pose turned to be also very convenient, because I didn't have to move the arms too much from their original height for humans. This will make spriting them much easier.

Right now im halfway through the back walking animation.

The critique can now begin. *Hides*
