Title: Using other abilities to an Archer's Skillset
Post by: Argy on August 18, 2009, 09:30:05 am
Hello,

Here is my problem i have added the 'crush' and 'sap' abilities to my Archers Skillset. I have a playedwith the parameters, with no joy.

What happens is I select 'crush weapon' for example, I target the enemy and it shows the damage that will happen and then nothing. I have unchecked weapon strike and need sword, and I have checked the target weapon box. I have also played with the distance etc and still no luck!!

Can anybody please help me

Cheers Argy  :ban:

Sounds like you're having a problem I ran into. You should be able to fix it by going into the animations tab and changing the default animation for those two skills to 07 00 00 (in the three boxes, respectively).

This will make it perform the regular weapon attack animation.

Not exactly... this is a different sort of problem, if you go to Action Menus and turn Chage/Aim to Normal instead... of well Charge/Aim the game will read it as a normal skillset rather then a special one.

Hiya,

Kafeix, 07 00 00 is the default animation for all of the 'crush' skills, so i dont think that will work

Lasting Dawn, i tried using different actions instead of Charge and still no joy and also their no normal drop down option

Thank you both for your help, it is very much appreciated

Cheers Argy

P.S. Is 457, the latest one? I love this program!!

Yes, 457 is the latest version of the program, but... you need to go to Action Menus, go to Charge, and change it to a Normal set. It's worked for myself and many others, I can't see why it wouldn't work with Zozma or yourself.

well LD, i tried to create an extra Elemental set so that i could make some enemies have certain things learned, but even tho i select to change it from "Normal" to "Elemental" when i patch the game and then re-open the game with patcher its back to normal.

ive tried this with changing a normal to "action" as well... in fact ive tried most anything and it doesnt stick, but it still generages the codebreaker codes for it.

This only works for Math Skill and Charge mind you, the rest cannot be turned into normal skillsets away from their intended purpose, which is a shame.

I am in the same boat as Zozma, i change the action to normal and it wont save, oh well, I will have to wait to the next patch!!

For somee strange reason, I have changed the archers action to default and know it works

Very strange, but I am happy with the results!!

If you change archer to default, it works normalish.

if the abilities have a charge time, then if you move after starting ot charge, your spel will cancel. the problem with this is the AI doesnt know that will happen, so happily charges a move, and then gets it canceled. the easiest way to stop that, obviously, is to set everything to instant.

Didn't i post this like 3 times the past 5 months? maybe itl get more noticed in the help section...
