What? XD

Yeah, all of the members of dchrist2's team were named dchrist2. There was a knight named dchrist2, another knight named dchrist2, a sage named dchrist2, and (I think) a time mage... named dchrist2.

It was a major tip-off that I was fighting a team assembled by one of the other forum members, although nothing says "HELLO PLAYER BEHIND THE SCREEN" quite like fighting THE FINAL BOSS, named after an admin and given the title "admin", during a random encounter.

So I figured I'd just do some grinding, teach Orlandu and Meliadoul the skills they need to not be NPCs, bring Agrias' level back up to par, and then this one fight... everyone is named dchrist2. Took me a second to figure out what was going on  :o. Anyway, your supremely high-power spells can suck my instantaneous sword skills. And also the fact that Worker 8 got VERY lucky with that Last Song. >.>

So I go back to that place again, and I'm looking around for enemies, and I'm like "What."
And then I see Altima and I'm like "WHAT".
Then I cursor'd over Altima to discover that I am in fact fighting Xifanie, the admin. I was like "Whaaaat."
*open status screen* "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat the spork"

That meteor spell made me laugh out loud though. I had her down to like 30 hp and all of my people are still alive, and then she was all like "NOPE LOL1SHOT WE ALL DIE EVEN ME", and then she casts this spell which targets everyone for 999 damage, leaving the map filled with nothing but corpses... and Worker 8. HAH!

Apparently I suck at this... I'm at 1 right, 3 wrong. *Sigh*
If only that shuriken had hit... or if the ninja had gone for two attacks instead of one...

I'm going to bet on the ninja for this one.
Just because... well... ninja. (also, the bit about having two swords)

Have you still got all of the important characters?

I went to Vegas with my family for Christmas vacation... the rock climbing at the Valley of Fire was fun, although I think I was within a few inches of falling to my death for most of the actual climbing part.

I don't think I'm going back to Vegas, ever. That place is weeeeeird...
The most-advertised pawn shop was smaller than the ones in my hometown and had worse prices, the next-biggest one apparently hadn't figured out that CRT TVs can't be GIVEN away, much less sold for $200, and the entire local economy runs on (gambling and) getting poor people to stand in the streets handing out cards advertising for the whores. Walgreens is apparently the biggest thing since the invention of BREATHING, every souvenir shop sells the same 4 unclassy shirts and a bunch of fake jewelry, places with names like FatBurger and The Heart Attack Grill ("people over 350 lbs eat for free!") thrive in a place where fat people seem to be few and far between, and there is nothing in the town that caters to video gamer people. Then again, I got pretty much what I expected from the city with a half-mile of slot machines between the airplane and the tram to the baggage pickup area.

And then I get back home to Canada, and WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN IT IS NOT SUMMER ANY MORE. (that thing that they call "winter" in Vegas is not winter, in my world. That's hardly even Autumn.)

Hey everyone, I've actually been hanging around here for a couple weeks now, I've been "helping out" with FFT:Plus... by which I mean I've been playing through it and reporting all some of the broken or weird things.

I'm not nearly as hardcore about FFT as some of the people here; I haven't ever done a single character run, or a single class run, or any such thing. I have enough trouble getting through the game normally, heh. I can manage, though.

I'm taking computer science at school (I'm halfway through third year, now)... and yes, I can program in MIPS, at least a little bit. I hate it all to bits, though. I also have some musical talent, but I'm more of a performer than a composer. I can play flute in front of a thousand people, walking around, in uniform, in formation and in time with 40 other people, with nigh-perfect tone and volume, but I have trouble making midi files with the right feel to them.

Favorite video game series: Disgaea, Final Fantasy (that'd be why I'm here), Super Smash Brothers, Devil May Cry... Dungeons and Dragons gets an honourable mention, despite that the d20 system isn't a video game so much as it is a medium. (I actually DM a D&D game sometimes)

As for the Saviour of teh lolPrinnies thing, that came about from an IRC conversation where (being deliberately childish) I said a line using a lolcat's pidjinspeek and appended a Prinny's "dood" onto it. And then I thought, "lolPrinny. I kinda like it."

Oh, I'm also a troper, so I apologize in advance if I hand out a link that ends up ruining your life.

I had Beowulf use drain on Zarela several times, and he was always hit with counter-magic drain... for zero damage.
Including the critical counter-drain that pushed him backwards, which I thought was quirky.

Oddly, Balmafula's sprite is fine when she and Delita is chatting with Goltana. It was only after the fight at Zeltennia where her sprite was glitched.
I don't know about subsequent appearances yet...

EDIT:
She was fine during the scene where Ramza frees Orlandu from the prison, but when she meets back up with Delita to kill Goltana and "Cid" (spoilers btw), she has the Onion Knight/Runny Paint thing going on again.

Even SHE looks surprised!

EDIT2: Her sprites were fine in the scene where she died. There goes my theory that it's Delita's presence that was messing her up...

I wonder how well a Lancer would do here. Being the only person on one team and using Jump can really mess with the other AI... but then again, is the lancer AI smart enough to use Jump?
Give the lancer a ribbon, something that grants haste (or lots of speed...), and... maybe white magic? Or maybe Draw Out.

I'm 1 and 1 for the betting. I liked the finisher for that second match too... victory by damage split, heheheh.

Well, it was rather humorous to troll the ahrimans, but to make them more threatening yeah you should probably change it.

EDIT (to avoid double-posting, although I doubt anyone really cares much either way):
Zalera has a lot of mp, dood!

I "defeated" his skeletons by letting him confuse Ramza, and let Ramza go "help?" Meliadoul with the skeletons... when Meliadoul died, Ramza stood there not doing very much, while the skeletons waited around and didn't dare attack him.
I then defeated Zalera himself by creating a stable CT loop where he would target my lancer every turn with Flarega... and then I would have the lancer move next to him, jump, watch him cast Flarega on himself, and then land on him. Worker 8, Cid, and Beowulf helped. Apparently Beowulf is innately immune to Drain, which is handy.

Balmafula's sprite is messed up. Half the time she uses the Onion Knight sprite, but when she does any nonstandard animations during the cutscenes she looks like the original Balmafula... except that she seems to be wearing clothes made of runny paint and physics-be-gone.

If summoners are proving to be too weak to kill anything, the obvious solution is to use more gun summoners. Or a mime. Or both.
Hey, it worked against the Finath River Chocobos.

I especially like the AI quirk where the red chocobos will completely ignore Ramza (who is charging Bahamut, and will soon kill three chocobos all at once) in favor of getting closer to my lancer (who is charging Areiz, and is scheduled to cast it on Ramza after the chocobos' turns). I mean, there's no point killing him if he's going to be revived again instantly, right? Wrong, chocobos. Very wrong.

Also, Angel Rings make you nigh-invincible against Ahrimans. Turns out that being immune to the Dead status effect makes you immune to Death Sentence as well, meaning that Ahrimans will gladly waste their first turn speeding towards you as fast as their terrain-ignoring wings possibly can, and then waste an action bestowing a perfectly harmless status effect on you. If they live long enough to see the Death Sentence harmlessly wear off, they'll waste another turn to put it on again.

The AI are devoted followers of the Random Number God, dontcha know. Going all "RANDOM NUMBERS FOR THE RANDOM NUMBER GOD" and using things like Warn and Throw Stone and stuff.

I'm betting on the samurai too.

I loved the ending to that first battle. Ninja was lined up for a FLAWLESS VICTORY, but then NOPE

I had frog'd one of those wildebeast thingers and trapped him between three guys (it was the level +20 guy in Zeklaus Desert, so I used him for level grinding), and he had no compunctions against tentacle-licking my priest.
The one who kept hitting him with a stick, and THE ONLY ONE HEALING HIM.
*sigh*
AI does weird things sometimes.

When they use their Damage Split reaction, the tree-monsters' top half disappears. I think part of the sprite is missing, or pointing to the wrong place on the spritesheet, or something.

They also REALLY don't like attacking when frog'd. I pinned one in the corner, and it just would not attack my mime. It was stuck in that corner for about five turns. Note that mimes can't counterattack...

The other frog'd one did use tentacle a couple times, though. That was somewhat humourous.
TENTACLE ATTACK!!!
