In the first battle i changed the knight into a summoner and the archers into wizards but when rad shows up his sprite is messed up.
and im not going over the sprite limit because they are generics.
how can i fix this?

Is it doing special actions in events or in battle? If it is in actual battle you are likely over the sprite limit.

Can I increase the limit?

No, it is presumably about processor/memory limitations, even beyond even finding the hardcoded info.

Video RAM, and no, I don't think it's possible to increase it unless we compress the spritesheets in some way (by that I mean smaller blocks for arms, frames, etc.), which is seriously not worth it.

Love what you're seeing? https://supportus.ffhacktics.com/ 💜 it's really appreciated

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)
<R999> My target market is not FFT mod players
<Raijinili> remember that? it was awful

From the game itself.

The emulator that runs the game can only use the same amount of VRAM that the real PSX used.

I get the same error. He looks garbled at the Orbonne Monastery. I don't Know why...
