News:

Use of ePSXe before 2.0 is highly discouraged. Mednafen, RetroArch, and Duckstation are recommended for playing/testing, pSX is recommended for debugging.

Has anyone tried Windows 7 yet?

I'd like some real feedback from you guys since we all the game hacking/game creation thing in common.

So is it still a piece of crap or has it got some REAL improvements over Vista?

And, yes I'm aware that if I put a rock in my PC in place of my Vista installation it would be a REAL improvement.

I'm running the RC and ran the beta before it came out. It's great and has been since the beta.

Since it uses many of the same drivers as Vista, as well as a similar version number (6.1 for Windows 7 vs. 6.0 for Vista) there's few issues in terms of driver or program compatibility.

I really don't have any significant negative criticisms of it. It's far improved over Vista and XP.

Does it still have compatibility issues with programs/games?

And does it still use RAM excessively?

Compatibility as far as programs that ran under xp only can now run in  win 7 under xp mode, like an actual xp emulator environment. Also the new explorer style is cool and I've noticed speed improvements as well as a larger penis.
I never learn from my mistakes.

From what I read it only has XP mode in the Pro version and above. Is that correct?

^^^ Yup. That's about right.

Let me put it this way. If it runs on Vista, it'll likely run on 7 just fine.

No. It has the same recommended hardware requirements as Vista, but that shouldn't be an issue at this point. Hell, from what I've read, it runs well on relatively old hardware. So it's definitely better than Vista in that respect.

Any online games using nProtect Game Guard will crash, though. Stupid site hasn't made compatibility for Win 7 yet.
