Name changing

Hi all, thanks to you guys there are modding programs to support pretty much any alteration of the game anyone would need.
However all I really want is a simple method to change the names of characters in the game. In particular, Montblanc and lesser party members. I've done hours of net searching trying to find and use programs or methods for this but all have come up bust, sometimes because they are too out dated and the support for them has vanished.
Can anyone supply a nice method for changing names in FFTA? I have little to no experience with code modification myself so if the only way to do it is by hex editors and such could you please give me some pointers? At the very least I understand that there are name value offsets and pointer offsets required.
