Better. Though he could definitely use a unique looking cape, like Weigraf, Beowulf, Aliste, or Zalbag.

As for the portrait, you can hold off on it till the sprite's done. Though note that you left some yellow on his skin...

Well, he's supposed to be wearing a simple brown cloak, but I can look at the others' patterns and see if  can put something on it.

I love the simplicity of the cape.

Very nice pallete choice. Is the portrait still qonky in the sprite editor?

He looks fine in game, thats why I was confused as why it looks that way in shishi.

I have a similar problem with my Wiegraf portrait, he looks fine in shishi, but theres a black line above his portrait in game, and I don't think its misaligned.

Hmm, could you post your .bmp if you get a chance? (And want to). I'll see if I can figure out the problem.

The mustache in the portrait looks... funny. X:

The boots in the full frontal view don't look connected to the legs.
The diagonal frontal view, the right foot looks a bit too dark.

Nice sprite though. x:

Alright, what I'm seeing is that somehow the protrait has the right palette from the get go (O.o) Usually it be perceptively heavily miscolored, yet yours remains to have it's natural colors.

Generally, the portrait should be color coded to the first section of the palette.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Yeah, the darkest color of the legs and the inside of the cape seem to bleed together, not sure if I can lighten it without the legs looking flat though

When I fixed it with Mav's portrait tutorial it ended up looking like that.

See you even left a portion of the Original portrait behind yours. . . leading to the conclusion that these palettes are not in your portrait color than it become 0,0,0 (pure black) as default. . . as recommended in my first post just move the entire portrait to cover the green area. . . ( higlight port and make 1 pixel move to the right)

*edit there is also a grey shade on the entire left side of your port. . .

Ah! I see it. It was moved 1 pixel ->

and im sure if he moves it one pixel the under portion will now have the black because of the grey line on the left side of what we see from up there. . . so when he moves it left or right. . . bam! always a black line

Alright, after thinking about it, this is what I imagined happened.

You moved the portrait 1 -> way. That caused the 1 line of the portrait to be read as palette 1. Because of the shift to the right, you created a black void(or line) on the far left that would then be read as gray by palette 2 (or 9).
