Quote from: "jimmyjw88"Well, I guess no choice but to move a pixel because it looks correct in the game.
I suppose moving my portraits 1 pixel to the right is my last option.

I don't suppose any one who is better at portraits than me could take a crack at making a better portrait for my CH4 Wiegraf sprite?  My attempt was little more than moving some pixels on the shoulders and adding an oh so common X shaped scar to his face.

The original scar had colors similar to the brows and mouth,
so we had to lighten its colors, then add shading around it.

That's a giant scar. It's done fairly nicely, but I say make it a wee bit smaller.

Yeah, probably couldn't get away with him having a scar like that without an explanation in the storyline I guess.

edit: Here's my newer attempt, I gave him a slightly different look in his eyes, and gave him one of those cheek scars (dunno what they're called, if anything) It probably needs to be lightened up or something.

Edit the edit: Made his shoulders the same as his normal portrait, face retains changes stated above.

Been working on updating my sprite, so far I've updated the head to resemble the portrait more.

^ Is it finished?

Looks cleaner and more unique, imo.

I suppose its finished, I can't think of much else to do to it.

Edit: What looks cleaner and more unique, my Wiegraf portrait?

The Wiegraf portrait looks pretty good, though if that's still a scar nudge it away from the cheek and make it bigger. It's not a booboo, it's an injury from war--make it look like it hurt.

Your other sprite looks pretty awesome. Have you tried using the male Priest's hair?

Well, its the male priest's hair with the bangs edited to look like the portrait. I pretty much just put the female ninja's bangs on it.

Edit: Take it away from the cheek, and make it look like it hurt? Something like this?

Yes, something like that. Now its more like the scar from war ^^
Well done.

Very nice. And I meant to comment earlier and the eyes and the eyebrows: wow, it's amazing how much more sympathetic those eyes make Wiegraf. Great job. And I think the hair looks fine on your custom sprite--I was under the impression that you were having trouble with the hair, but everything seems to be in its place.

In my own personal patch I plan on Wiegraf and Miluda living through to the 4th chapter and joining you, so I'm glad that the new portrait looks good.

Oh, I just mentioned the head on my other sprite because I had edited it, earlier it was just the priest's head.

Hey, not bad! I like the 2nd one, like a pirate wearing silver armor under a brown cloak (okay, I know it is Orlandu recolored with female Thief head, but still) nice idea ;)
There ain't no gettin' offa this train we on!

Interesting stuff. At a glance, I don't see any problems with the heads, so good work. I don't know whether a knight with a bandanna makes sense, but it was done fairly well. Good work.

Asmo X

The mustadio-based sprite is cool but your back-facing arms are the wrong way around

They are? they're copied straight from the thief sprite...I wonder how that happened...

Well, here's another sprite I'm working on..a bit more than a head swap for this one.
