hey guys. this is my first attempt at a custom sprite.  it's supposed to be cid from ff7 advent children.  its very much a work in progress so i figured i'd post a preview and ask for whatever input you have.

The placement of the pixels looks good, like the design. It definitely needs work in the shading department though. But a good start certainly.

Not bad at all for a first attempt. Only thing I'd put his pants a few pixels taller.

THEY DO NOTHING!

Kudos to whoever find the reference.

As for them , I just noticed, they seem a little... blank. Dunno. Why don't you add one more color of shading for them, maybe from the boots?

also, I'd give them a little more 'roundness', they're too straight.

BYW, that is a Simpsons quote. Radioactive-Man film episode. I DEMAND MY KUDOS!!

yeah, i was definitely thinking the goggles were too square.  i'd probably need another white to work with so make them more rounded.

*Mwahahaha!!! Soon I will have enough Kudos to take ove... NOTHING! I said nothing!!*

You could always sacrifice on variety of colors to have better gradients. That usually works out pretty well, and it matches the FFT style better too.
