Smash

Someone needs to destroy me before I destroy FFT style

(The chu and dog are unrelated)

Lol. Not bad. Quite nice. Though his armor seems bit funny. The shoulder spike looks good but that purple around the wrist seems...odd. Hmm...
Kindly upload the images to other image hosting sites. I can't view imageshack. Thanks.

Asmo X

This looks awesome. Its going to look weird to people because they are going to try and "see" the old style and have a kind of instinctive aversion. But I like this. Wouldnt mind a whole game in the style

mav

Very cool. I like the realistic proportions, but I'm not the biggest fan of the stripped down look...though I guess it's necessary for sprites of this size. Very cool stuff.

Kokojo

I personally heavely dislike. It just won't fit and it isin't appealing to the eye.
I keep leaving, I keep coming back. Boomerang boy.

Kagebunji

This is great, but IMO FFT style is still better.

Yes. They are nicely done. But they're just not for me.
Good job, in any case!

As the puppeteer pulls His strings,
The fragile doll spreads Her wings.
To dance a ballet as He directs
That is the Curse of the Marionette.

Controlled by a hand far, far above,
Forbidden to care, forbidden to love.
Forever shall She mime what She cannot know,
Until the day She loses her illusory glow.

Propped up on a stilt where wine once stood,
The Marionette is, once more, only wood.
Her glossy eyes have lost their shine,
Her silken hair, turned to twine.

What a fate awaits the poor little doll,
Who dances and runs but cannot stand at all.
And the puppeteer is applauded at the end of every show,
But the audience's joyous response the doll can never know.

I am but a doll on an endless stage,
Dancing for others whilst I slowly age.
My puppeteer sits far above,
Hiding His face behind a white glove.

And when I have aged to nothing but wood,
I will be tucked away in a closet where a doll once stood.
Then, as I gather dust and the world passes by,
I will be forgotten by the vast, blue sky.

There ain't no gettin' offa this train we on!

Knox

Pretty neat, Smash.
Not sure i prefer it over FFT style, but it reminds me of Stella-Deus a little.
Big fan though, always fun to see your work!

Kinda reminds me of Suikoden style, but more... sophisticated.

I don't know if I will ever be able to forgive you for this Smash. At least the sprite doesn't have a visible nose. It is a very interesting experiment though.
Current Projects:

SilvasRuin

As I've said elsewhere when seeing that Ramza portrait, unless there's enough in this style to fill an entire game, I won't be able to stand it.  I also don't think anyone can quite emulate you, Smash, so for me to like this, you'd have to work your ass off for an extended period of time.  I just don't see it happening.  You'd hit your limit eventually.

woodenbandman

I think that it doesn't look proportionate at all. he looks like he's crouching; the shoulder spikes are flat; the increased size merits an increase in colors, and without them, the whole sprite looks lifeless and flat. His left leg looks longer than his right, rather than looking like it's in the background.
