I have a major problem with Slots, as you have the potential to get nothing useful, and with every turn you get being crucial to the battle, I think a "wheel of fortune" type of ability might be more practical to FFT. I mean I don't want Lagomorph popping up and then having to wait for ~10 people to have their turns before another shot at a real ability... That's just my opinion. Fuck Setzer GrabWEENIES :x

roll dice!!! you could have them increase like roll 2 dice, etc. etc. add the scores of the dice and multiply by 10

what role do you want Gamblers to play? more of an offensive character or support character?

also, i'm picturing gambit from X-Men, so they should equip sticks :)

bahamut to dragoons perhaps?

anyways, illusionists sound ok, but kind of useless with only 2 people if they're going to deal relatively low damage like in FFTA. If the illusionists had status-inflicting abilities sort of like galaxy stop (except with a lower hit % maybe) they'd be useful...

also i think they add much to story-telling. for example, Voldemort's narration : "oh shit this bitch just smacked me!"

i like nearly all of philsov's ideas, especially for the armors. great balance between easily obtainable, weak skills and more powerful, rare skills. that's my vote

why can shields block Shield Break I mean wouldn't they just break????

Same with Weapon Guard blocking Weapon Break

I mean would you try to block a punch to your face with your face?? NO.

I heard Obama is replacing the White House Rose Garden with a Watermelon Patch!

j/k, but i'm sure he'll live, although I am strongly conservative :(

Quote from: "LastingDawn"There will be eight spells (plus one hidden skill) in the Wizard's grimoire.

This wasn't quite clear, but were you that saying the Invoker's skillset will be named "Grimoire"? If you didn't, then I suggest it anyhow!  :)

the only problem i have with the vagrant story idea is the possibility of fire elementals hitting twice, as that makes Rad's double ice/fire/bolt totally overshadowed. Otherwise it sounds excellent! Maybe fire could be the only element with an effect radius? Because fire spreads etc. etc.

Consuming equips sounds like a good idea, as it would make item usage considerably more expensive.

How about Stat-Up items?
Throw something to Ramza... Ramza's PA +1.

Hmm the arduous part of Revive though is that it has a range of only 1 though. You could also slap on a moderate MP cost... but that would be unfortunate for the actual Monk class.

Revive seems like an ability Apprentice might have over raise. That is just a superficial point of view because of how they look.

make them into some sort of necromancer? they don't really look human anyway and giving them the elemental spirits (from skeletons) among a few other moves would maintain an elemental-magic class. maybe it'd be a way to give dark holy to a job class as well?

I'm an AWG (Average White Guy) who likes FFT, long walks on the beach, and boobies. I don't know shit about how to hack but I enjoy playing them and it looks like LastingDawn is doing a legit job on Mercenaries right now.

I didn't see any announcements with rules or anything so I hope it's alright I said "shit"
