Been keeping this one lying in wait for almost a year now. At long last, that sprite comic I've mentioned several times.

Spriting / Hoodless Orlandu
April 11, 2009, 08:55:05 am
I have not the skills to finish what I've begun.
So, I'd like to hand this Sean Connery look-alike off to someone.
And also perhaps acquire him a portrait so that he may have some sort of dignity.

Spriting / Kain (dragoon palette swap)
April 11, 2009, 01:07:20 am
Not really planning on making the whole thing because finals are coming up, but I've seen numerous mentions of Kain from FFIV needing to be made into a sprite.
I got the armor colors from the second black mage palette.

Spriting / Custom Sprite Artwork *Updated on 4/8*
April 04, 2009, 07:30:22 pm
Recently I've been working on random sprites in various poses, just messing around and seeing what kind of cool stuff I could make with them. This led me to working in Photoshop, setting these sprites on various backdrops. Since this is a tactics community, I figured this would be the best place to show this stuff.

Note: None of this reflects any sort of continuity. I mean, really it's just a hobby. Though, if anyone is interested in what I have done on the hoodless Orlandu, I'd be glad to hand it over.
Personally, I think he comes out looking like Sean Connery.

Title: Rescue

Title: So The World Will Never Know
Note: This one is an area I've constructed (in paint) known as The Shadow Deep. It is Delita's darkest, obscurest, and least heard-of prison. And yes, the name is a reference to the Château d'If, made famous by its inclusion in Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo. Also, at the bottom I've provided a portrait for this version of Ramza.

Title: Please Don't Make Me Explain This One. PLEASE.

I'm working on a game that is based on the d20 Miniatures skirmish basics, and I was wondering if there was anyone else familiar with it.

I've been playing for several years, and eventually began to draw parallels between it and FFT. So, I've actually began to create the Final Fantasy Tactics Miniatures Skirmish Game, which involves alot of card stock miniatures, cards, and some d20s. I play it on D&D minis maps, as those fit the setting the best.

Would anyone be interested in learning more about it?

EDIT: To be released sometime in the near future-
Final Fantasy Tactics Miniatures Skirmish Game
War of the Lions Starter Set
To include:
-Printable folding paper miniatures
-Printable stat cards
-Hopefully printable (it's large) map (Citadel of Igros Castle)
-Awesome rulebook
-Protect/Shell counter

note: Does not include dice, health/magic counters, or friends, game requires a 20-sided die.

And what minis are in this proposed starter?
- Ramza Beoulve, Cadet
-Wiegraf Folles, Corpse Brigade Commander
-Squire
-Chemist
-Knight
-White Mage (1)
-Black Mage (1)
-Archer

As of now, these miniatures have been mostly tested with my supersecret rules and buddies. Completion of this Starter Set is pending.[/u]

The Lounge / Zelda Fangame- The Usurper War part 1
November 17, 2008, 08:05:38 pm
The Usurper War is (going to be eventually) a series of 45 min- 1 hr Zelda games, all of which could be played seperately, but which share an interconnecting story.
Currently, it has a very stripped down system, with the only real statistic Link possesses is his health, represented by the usual heart system.

The basic premise of the game is that it occurs sometime after Twilight Princess, and the King of Hyrule has been possessed by a demon. When the new Deku Tree sends a young boy named Link out to save the world, Link ends up fighting and killing the King, leading the country of Hyrule to hate him for crimes he was forced to commit to save the world.
That's the overarching story, which will take you to dark ruins of the Zora people, high towers left behind by the Gerudo people, oceans and islands in a faraway land, and eventually back to Hyrule proper, to save the Princess who's heart you've won.

A small demo containing Hyrule Field, the Ancient Forest, and most of the Zora Ruins is attached below. It's an .exe, and should run on most PCs.
Also, it is contained in a .rar.

Let me know what you think!

Not exactly sure this is the right board for this, considering this board is technically about patching the game.

Fall of the Gods is a project I've had stewing in my head for several months now. It began when I was just messing around with some of the original Tactics sprites in paint, putting them together in poses that were very interesting, such as a dual-swording Orlandeau with one sword in reverse grip. Then, a story hatched in my mind, a sequel to the original. But how to go about its creation? I'm no hacker, nor am I a man of great patience or fast learner. However, I do happen to be quite skilled with Adobe's wonderful Photoshop. And so it hit me: Why not make it a comic? And so I began. I can't share much of what's done yet, as it is cruel to create an audience when you've little actual material (the first few pages of issue 1 are complete at the time of this writing), but I can provide the basic synopsis of the story.

Story
"We all were fools. We believed that it would all end with the death of Ultima, theHigh Seraph. We had to. The belief kept us all going. We believed, more than anything, that the world would be saved, that the wars would end... That peace would reign if only the Lucavi were finally destroyed...
To our great dismay, we were wrong."

-From the Journals of Mustadio Bunansa

Ultima is defeated, and the world seems at peace. However, deep within the bowels of the Necrohol of Mullonde, the heretic Ramza Beoulve and Thunder God Cidolfus Orlandeau battle for their lives against a horde of demons set loose by the defeat of the High Seraph. Are they alone in this living hell, or are there others of their group still trapped in the dead city? And in his fight to survive, will Ramza become what he detests the most?
On the outside, Mustadio Bunansa and Agrias Oaks have fled to Goug, and one day discover the body of Alma Beoulve on the shore of the island. What can this mean of their other friends?
In his castle at Lesalia, newly widowed and betrayed King Delita Heiral recovers from his near-fatal wound as his advisors try to put down a growing rebellion led by the scholar Orran Durai, who is attempting to reveal the truth of the War of the Lions, and assure that history does not forget Ramza Beoulve.
Above all these events, high in the skies of Ivalice, or perhaps in another dimension altogether, something sinister, cold, and calculating waits, and silently pulls the strings of the world to orchestrate yet another war in Ivalice...

Yes, this is a sprite comic, by the way. And any contributions would be most appreciated.
There's a very special set of sprites I need someone with skills in that area to make, so if you're interested and don't care about who's mentioned in the last paragraph there, pm me and I'll let you know what I'm requesting. Wouldn't want to spoil it for everyone else!

Well, let me know what you think of the idea, and I'll see about getting that first issue done soon!

Edit: Here's a preview of the first issue (only one page, sorry).

Here's the preview of my new project (which I requested, and then decided to try myself.

Not bothering with the color limit for the moment, working on shape and details right now.

If anyone wants to help, this is something I would love to pass along to others, as I'm not the best spriter.

Also, anyone interested in a patch including him should check and see if you can make a gun use a summon spell.

The Lounge / FFT DVD Covers
September 06, 2008, 02:51:20 pm
If anyone is interested, I have this terrible habit of putting my PSX games into DVD cases, usually only because I've made a cover for them.
Currently, I have 2 for FFT, and as soon as I get them uploaded to Photobucket, I'll link to them so you guys can enjoy them!

Edit:

Edit: 10 points to anyone who can recognize every picture used to make this.

If anyone would like to use it, it's best to print on matte paper, tell the printer to fit it to the page.
I can distribute the .psd for those interested.

Spriting / Changing Portraits in a .SPR
August 06, 2008, 06:35:35 pm
What is the correct way to do this?
The problem I run into is that I'm trying to make use of the Japanese site's Firion, and I don't like the portrait they put with him. So, I was wondering if there's an easy way to apply my portrait to it?

I'll attach my .SPR and the Portrait, for anyone who wants to give it a try.
But, a tutorial on this would help much more.

War of the Lions Hacking / The Script
August 05, 2008, 12:12:08 am
Has anyone noticed any lines lifted from The Princess Bride?
Specifically, in the scene between Ovelia and Delita:
Ovelia: Do not mock me! I could not bear it.

I believe it's a line Buttercup speaks, but I can't be certain.

PSX FFT Hacking / The World Map
August 04, 2008, 10:15:00 pm
Is there anyway yet to extract the world map and import a new one, such as the one from XII?
And, if so, is there a way to move the nodes on the map?

Spriting / sprite request: Basch fon Ronsenburg
July 29, 2008, 02:47:28 pm
I'm not too great at spriting, so I was wondering if anyone has attempted to make Basch from Final Fantasy XII. I made a portrait for him, but I'm no good at actual gameplay sprites.

Any help would be appreciated.
