On the whole sprite sheet 1st (Left facing) and 3rd frame (Front Facing) look a bit derp and rectangle faced. Please do curve the face by adding depth.

Well I like the gold band the way it is it makes it unique and matching to the sprite. But it will have to be replicated in the walking frames and arms if it will be attached. It will be rough

I would go with the first but those random light pink pixels will haunt you when they float up ingame. Better keep the dress simple and remove the flower decorations (random spotting) cause they will not come out right in such a small sprite.

You are progressing well. My only suggestion would be to change her eyes to match the rest of the other characters. Balmafula has only one pupil colored while the rest have both eyes.... Also due to lack of a darker white I guess they gave her a blue highlight which is also bad.... So just fix that. Here is a bit minor but I also noticed the under of the neck has gone way to dark and this is bare skin so i sketched some suggestions.

1. Your version with eyes and neck shadings fixed

2. Rechosen reds from Larg or Delita can't remember with eyes and neck fix

3. Rechosen reds, overhauled face with bangs over the eyes with shadows, your current green hair and pointed shoes like your reference. You may take the earrings off if you like.....

Well the cape just looks plain....... it is not flat but just not flowing in the upper parts. Kinda cardboard like is the best way I can explain it when I see it in shi shi

Can anyone fix the cape at the back facing frames of Garland? I have done a couple of edits but none to my liking so yeah I'm stuck with it for a while now.

I will use the new design for the chocobo i found in that thread. The chocobo in FFT uses its wings and flys around so finding a design that does not cover up the wings works well for me and the game.

EDIT: Hope you can work with these and improve them. Made the helmet a tad smaller like Kage suggested (smaller than lancers but looking proportional)

Nice well I came from a similar background except I edited sprites for M.U.G.E.N. and well being clean with pixels was not an issue there as things were bigger. Now it is minimal colors and low saturation ahaha. I hope you make a Zero sprite here as well for the forums.

Are you sure you are a beginner at spriting? Cause that shading and depth is just Dammmmmn Good (way beyond my level)!!!!! Carry On with sketching that thing up you have Twinees like potential. For the sprites feel free to use the Judge as reference I am willing to provide edits here in your thread as needed (especially since the Judge has no cape-less back view).

I still hope to see Jimmy's or your sketch attempts TobiasVX. I am always a fan of the try and risk it phase.... Majority of spriters started without basics like me and was able to learn from it. Let us face it even if we just cut, paste and edit for portraits  then it won't totally reach the peak of awesomeness it deserves. SKETCHES NEED TO BE DONE

Um Delita did take over and had the Queen commit treason for kidnapping Ovelia. For one I would like to see that one since that is how I would like my patch to be. Orinas grown up as an exile fugitive with only thoughts of revenge and rescuing the Queen at Bethla Garrison. If she is 27 back then she will still not be over 50 when Orinas hits 18 to rescue her... So a nice little war will happen when He rescues her and seeks the Throne from Delita. BUT really... No full Body concept art it would be hard to sprite that one up

1st unedited frame looks like Dare Devil. for the 2nd and walking frames. I would say this is awesome as you got Dead Pool down :)

That Fran looks good! For Terra I suggest looking into the different fleshes used from sprites. The ones you used look so close to each other. For that Green hair I suggest looking for other shades (perhaps a tad darker but not as dark as the thiefs' Maybe Izludes?) that will blend in with the grass area stages something which Kagebunji experienced with his Rydia aeons ago.

Gonna take longer than my usual edits on Garland especially since I am not used to TYPE 2 editing. The base is a real pain as I need to do a lot of calculations and frame by frame editing cause of the cape.

Here are some updates on WIP sprites:

Updated Warrior of light to his Yellow Cape design which covers up the neck. Releasing a partial version of Cecil. I settled for him having a similar cape to Ovelia since he is royalty (King Cecil of Baron). Also his portrait needs color fixes. I switched the palettes in the sprite to other FFT purples and whites since the original colors by Smash make some darker shades pop out.

Your thick eyebrows and mole on the upper left eye are who you are so returning it is how it should be. Shading wise it seems fine. I just don't know if you stuck with the 16 colors. Your portrait would make a fine Shrine Knight

Just want to give credit to the real heroes. Cecil is Smash/Mobius concept :) Twinees gave birth to the concept of Bravely Default and a lot of sprites I finished. Kage who has been the best active critique and also a concept director in his own right. I am really more of an assembler.

I just wanna make sure if I am thanked that they also get the proper high five!  :more:
