Hey!

First time post but been following you guys since end 07/early 08 I think it was.

I have tried your editors except FFTorgASM, today I saw this post from this dude (sorry, forgot the name) and his RAD.zip (XLS file when unpacked)...
It sounded like it was as easy as opening it with FFTorgASM and then just patch the ISO...to get all those extra jobclasses on your wheel, 40 I think it said.
Only one tiny problem for me, how do I open XLS?
Unknown format it says...I tried the search engine to see what to do with this file but have come up with nothing...

Any help would be great :)  And btw, can FFTorgASM be used with the PSP version?

Thank you for you time and patience and hard work.

Pokeytax (the creator that asm) could probably answer this better but the .xls is a spreadsheet that you edit for the jobwheel; so you would need Excel, OpenOffice, or another spreadsheet editor to use it. The spreadsheet then creates a file that FFTorgASM can patch with the iso.

To answer your second question, it can't be used with the PSP version due to offset issues. (our psp knowledge is limited at the moment)

Check out my ASM thread. Who doesn't like hax?

Pride's right. The psp version has more data, and it's data is in different locations in the files. ASM hacking makes changes to the base code of the game, and so we have to know where that data is to change it. All of the asm hacks you'll find on this site (to my knowledge, anyway) are designed for the psx version, and therefore aren't compatible with the psp version.

As for the spreadsheet, again, Pride is correct. The xls file is a spreadsheet where you can change which jobs are added to the job wheel, and what the requirements for that job are. So you would need to have either Microsoft Excel, or OpenOffice Calc to open the file. Personally, I'd recommend Excel because it's easier to use for this specific spreadsheet (or any of the other spreadsheets pokeytax has put up; like the one for the ALMA hack).

Awesome!

Thank you both for your help, don't have MS Exel so guess I'll try OpenOffice.

Looked throughFFTorgASM yesterday and it looked like if I moved the xml file in there somewhere else the FFTorgASM lost many of it's option...
I assume you just move the spreadsheet after making it an xml over in the FFTorgASM folder for it to work?

Again. thank you very much :)

MagiusRerecros

Well, if you're going to use OpenOffice, what you're going to have to do is make whatever changes in the xls file you want to make, and then you go to Format->Sheet->Show and make sure that the box next to XML is checked. Then you'd copy anything on the "XML" sheet and paste it in to notepad and save it as an xml file in the same folder as orgASM, and then load orgASM up, and in the list of hacks, there should be a "Job Wheel Expansion" option, which you would then apply just like any other asm hack.

Yeah, what Magius said is correct: you need to set up your dream job wheel (crashes result after 15 new jobs for now), then copy everything on the XML sheet to Notepad and save it as an .xml file. FFTorgASM reads all the .xml files in its directory.

Awesome!

Just got it to work, the coding seem to be the similar to the old action replay/gameshark codes that only worked as long as the cheat device was on but now it's in the game itself...just awesome work man.

Thank you both for your great help.

:)
