Mad Matt

I made a Final Fantasy Tactics theme for my ITG machine. It will run on stepmania 3.95 or OpenITG.

This video shows what gameplay looks like with the theme:

This video explains some of the feature's I've built in:

All I have to say is: awesome. Must've taken you a while to put together. :o

"You, no less human than we? Ha! Now there's a beastly thought. You've been less than we from the moment your baseborn father fell upon your mother in whatever gutter saw you sired! You've been chattel since you came into the world drenched in common blood!"

I like!  Nifty little interface.

Do the various classes have an effect on the song/difficulty or is it just an icon that's seen during the gameplay?
Just another rebel plotting rebellion.

Its purely graphical, it has no affect on gameplay whatsoever.

Very cool stuff. What tools did you use to create this? How on earth did you get the job wheel to work so well.

Its mostly just screen shots from FFT cannibalized in photoshop and reassembled in xml which how graphics are controlled in stepmania themes. The fonts were a particular pain in the ass to scrape together. I stole some sound effects form this site, I used sprites sheets like this for all the different characters/classes to easily align the movements for all everything.

Stepmania has a built in options 'scroller' you can use, making it circular for the class wheel was easy. The part that was difficult was making it spiral in and out. I had to zoom in on the wheel while zooming out on characters to keep them the same size, at the same time I rotated the wheel and counter-rotated the sprites. I also had to horizontally stretch the wheel separately(and squeeze the sprites) to keep the proportions the same while it rotated.

Downloaded and will test it out tomorrow.

EDIT: Theme seems to have crashed on me. I run 3.9+ on japanese locale.
