@Kage: Currently a lot of the sprites are Missing Portraits, i actually consider portraits as separate projects, but they can be done relatively fast most of the time (and they are really not important).  90% means the sprite needs minor error corrections.

I have been itching to post the sprite work hehe. But give me sometime please...I'll put them up within a week or so.


LastingDawn: Oh I am surprised you noticed. Katelyn was just a temporary name given for that Agrias' teacher / apprentice concept that I have been trying to do for a while. Who's Katethegreat?

Whoa, that was great! I especially loved the ending,  I'm glad the Leylines really made an appearance there. Also, no doubt that was just a Black Mage posing as Elidibs for the beta of this, but you followed the Elidibs Manifesto, to a T.

haha awesome job on flash. The only thing Flash is good for... prototyping animations.  Overall it's a great start, there are some stuff that I think needs work (as per our discussion in the chat today)


1) The tone of Elidibus should sound more like Old English. That might make it possible to lengthen the letter slightly so... which would be important for the next point (Eternal is working on this.)

2) The movement of the maps near the end is way too slow compared to the music. You'll need to insert some text and or something else prior to this.

3) I know you haven't played with the typography just yet, but this is a very important aspect for this kind of intro.


Looking forward to see the next update~
PS I am aware that the movie was put together in Flash. But I am curious will you be using FCP? (FinalCut Pro).

He has a portrait and a sprite I think...
The black mage was just a placeholder until I come up with a worthy sketch of Elidibs.

Well time has passed but I am glad to finally see this big list seeing completion,

We started this forum on Jun 15th, and now One Month has passed! Remember back then, we barely even had character ideas down. Anastasia, Rakunar? They didn't existed then!

1) Valmafra — Turns out my initial idea of having her hair down wasn't exactly a good idea... despite how she reveals so much skin, wears makeup, has eyes closed in portrait — pretty much breaks all other generic rules.

2) Malak — Ok LD almost convinced me to redo his sprite. I will see.

3) Rafa — After Winshmo showed me some of her fan arts, I am Really tempted to redo her sprite.

4) Elmdore — A Silver Noble in Silver armor is possible. I will see.

5) Gaffgarion — Needs no introduction. A one of a kind vet Mercenary. Who doesn't love Night Sword? Anyway, his sprite could use some touch ups. He's the only other Black/Dark/Fell Knights in the game (next to Grims, who is wearing full black armor).



Some other updates:

Character Background / Bios 95% complete — Lasting_Dawn (and with help of Eternal) is rocking this. I recommend you all to go read the character bios at least twice. Each and every character in IA has a story.


Two new Nu Mou sprites in the works under Twinees, but characters not yet finalized yet. They so far look very promising.


Lucavi sprite concepts are looking really fantastic.


Much thanks to Smash for starting us off here. The designs for Shemhazai, Mateus, Famfrit are all looking amazing. We even have a pretty good concept of Zodiark by Lijj. There's but only one Lucavi remaining; Chaos.


In addition to all the new sprites, we also have Zozma helping out with new special effects (we already have a few good ones!).

Last but not least, our very first intro video by Wishmo along with some very high quality illustrations (Anastasia, Rakunar and Zorine!). If you haven't seen them yet already, please go do so now!



So all in all, progress has been fantastic in the small amount of time that we have had... though I think we can do a lot better! We really do need to pick up on the game mechanics side of things (I am looking at you Raven). Philsov, please hurry and finish ASM'D!

General Strife: Those are all of R999's Hero prototypes for the patch.. There are actually a bunch more awesome sprites (all the generic mercenaries) to still be released at project completion.
Scattman: We have something similar to that Samurai.. Only a bit more custom
