My lack of reviving is going to do me in, and I think it'll take a whole team just to take out CT5's knight. You'd need a mage for sure, using Flare or something.

I can only hope my ninja trashes those porkies before they get to screw me over... I thought of using a porky but meh, they are kinda fragile (although Wildbow, the 3rd tier, must be pretty much the reason to ban 3rd tier monsters... Oink = full hp instant revival )

And CT5's knight got aegis shield lol... I thought of doing a Lancer in those lines (regen move-hp up def up), but speed save didn't cross my mind... it looks really impressive (I originally thought of using hp restore since it would probably enter and leave critical before dying, but speed save is so much better!).

And N-Kai Armlet prevents charming, if I recall correctly... else he is screwed once his knight gets charmed lol.

I did a team with a monster. I'm hoping it'll work on survival. Everyone on my team absorbs fire, and 2 of my team have counter magic. That means that if I shoot off an Asura, I can potentially heal my team and hurt the enemy team 3 times, which might actually happen since my team is pretty low on movement. My main problem is probably going to be getting the damage up, but hopefully I'll be able to get the bomb to go off at least once per fight.

EDIT: Alas another problem with a fire based offense is the inevitable teams that wear black costumes. However, that's, at most, 1/3 of the opposition, and I planned for that and included status, kotetsu, and demi, not to mention regular attacks from the bomb and the dictionary (surprisingly powerful and that flareproc comes in when you least expect it). I'm hoping that my rad heal/hurt in the same action combined with counter magic to do it again will pull me through. Beware anyone who tries to use counter magic against me.

Why are so many people not fighting in Round One (or Preliminaries, whatever you call them)?  Couldn't we re-structure the brackets (too late now) so that everyone has a fight in Round One and at most one Bye if necessary.  It doesn't seem fair to the people to the twenty teams fighting in the preliminaries who could get eliminated before the other twenty-one teams begin their first fight.  I'm grateful for the advantage, but it isn't exactly fair.

Is there a reason only half of the teams fight in this preliminary round?

We have 43 teams. Magic numbers are the powers of two: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64...
We could have a nice tree if we removed 11 teams. But do you think it's more fair than letting the preliminaries decide?

This is what I was thinking: A three-division tournament with a single bye during the third round for Division B.  
The finals would be a 3-match round robin between the three champions of the three respective divisions.

It isn't flashy or colorful, but it shows the matchups and minimizes the amount of free advantage to a single bye.

Honestly I doubt anyone can claim victory this season. We have at least 9 badass teams out of 44 so this will be quite something. You're likely not the only ones that are going to react that way.

I kinda like Aquinas' idea about a 3 division tournament. Mainly because I'm excited to see how my team performs.

3 teams final is a no-no.

I don't really get the idea either, I see no reason to sacrifice a quarterfinal battle compared to preliminaries.

Setup looks fine to me - best that can really be done with such an awkward number of teams.

Then again, I never take these tourneys as seriously as others, so take it as you will. At least this time all the rules and procedures are clearly defined beforehand.

Suggest everyone look over their team that is listed, on mine it shows three of my units as Sagittarius where in fact none of them are in the team I listed. Using the team I posted in the Beta Testing thread.
