Ugh, I just don't know what I'm doing wrong with configs. The stock PCSXR Pete's runs terribly, same thing with blade or whatever it's called. OGL2 Tweak works okay but some effects are wonko. Chrono Cross's status menu works fine in Blade though. Haven't tried it in PCSXR's Pete's yet. I may just give up on Chrono Cross and just play FFT KO instead at this rate.

I need a nicer computer but too broke to upgrade at the moment.

Bladesoft is extremely slow. I can't even figure out why it's slow; I'm not CPU choked, I'm not GPU choked, and my RAM was the fastest commercially available at the time the plugin was made, but anything higher than 320x240 usually means slowdown.

Stock hardware plugin is much faster for me than Pete's at equal settings. Between 2 and 3 times faster. That said, Pete's OGL2 GTE Tweak has higher than native framebuffer access that PCSX-R stock lacks, at the cost of all the shitty blinking and half-drawn bullshit graphical bugs the original Pete's plugins come with. I will admit that Pete's was the best for its time, but so was ePSXe back then. They're both deprecated and superceded by their contemporaries (though credit where it's due, PCSX-R's was built and forked off of the old 1.77).

So Linux PCSXR on a 2008 Toshiba Satellite works better than Windows PCSXR on a 2013-2014ish ASUS X401U.

Honestly? Doesn't surprise me at-fucking-all. Linux in and of itself runs about 4x faster on my netbook that shipped with Windows 7x64, and fast enough to run a twitch.tv stream at max res with a Skype call, which is like asking it to turn water into wine in Windows.

Thanks to PGXP, my list is almost completely defunct. Nearly every title (except Grandia) has upgraded to the wonderous echelons of Bloody Roar and Tobal with the most recent updates that use a hybrid of PGXP and Edgbla's GTE accuracy methods. It's bloody gorgeous, check it out.
