The Lounge / Legend of Heroes Series

Anyone else play these amazing games? I just played FC last year and now I'm 30 hours into SC. I'm jumping right into Cold Steel afterwards.

I'm just astounded by the content and how good of games they are despite the limited budget.

I figured you gave up on this Koko! Well done.

I'll have to give it a play through when I can spare the time.

Just finished Shovel Knight. Really excellent, way better than I even thought it would be. I'm looking forward to them continuing to release free content for this game. Now I need to get back to Bravely Default.

Me too. I bought Bravely when it first came out. But, I'm about 30 hours in and haven't played it for awhile. After I finish my new game plus unknown run of Xillia & P3P I'm definitely going back to BD.

The Lounge / Re: Tales of Symphonia Chronicles was released!

I just started playing Tales with the release of Xilla, but since then I've played Graces F, Abyss 3DS and Vesperia 360. I'm now onto this one and like all the rest I'm really enjoying it thus far. The one thing that I really dislike about the three older ones(Abyss, Symphonia & Vesperia) is the voiceless skits in Abyss & Symphonia, as well as the timed side quests and lack of ability to skip cut scenes or a battle re-start. It really makes it tough to play on harder difficulties cause you don't wanna watch the same long scenes over and over again lol. That's just me nitpicking though, cause I love all of the Tales games and I actually enjoyed the older three more than the newer ones for the most part.

I have to say I wish this was coming out for a system rather than PC/Tablet/phone or whatever it is. Kind of my loses my interest.

I like LD's idea. Stuff like the Lucavi battles would be very interesting, what about special characters? Would Agrias and Mustadio join Ramza's party instead of two of the generics for example?

The two patches that would personally be the most interesting to me(and I'm surprised they've never been done although I know some people have tried) are either

A) A Delita patch going through the story as him as a lot of how he came to join the chruch and his relationship with other members and etc was left in the dark.
B) A Fifty Year's war patch with Barbaneth as the MC, Wiegraf & Gustav leading the lead men and everything that went on there.

Too bad the multiplayer matches can't be added in to single player but such is life.

And slightly off topic, but am I the only one who felt that the undead Algus battle would've been much more impactful on the story had Delita been involved?

Tales of symphonia is one of the best games I've ever played, I must say.

I'm definitely looking forward to the PS3 release of it and Xilla 2 soon.

I never even really heard of them until Xilla came out. I bought and beat that followed by Graces and now I'm a huge fan of the series. What do others think about it? I actually like it better than any of the recent Final Fantasy games.

Great game, just started playing it myself I'm on chapter 23 of hard classic. I've had to give up a couple of units though, (Kellam, Donnel and Mariebelle). But other than that I've managed to recruit everyone else I could, plus added Prince Marth to help me for the stretch run.

Should be able to get to this on the weekend, (I've been insanely busy with my finals being tomorrow) but congrats on getting chapter one finished you guys.

So close to beating Valkyria Chronicles 1,2 as well as the after years. Such a shame I bricked my PSP.

And a year later I'm probably still at the same spot in both games :D.

I finally beat Tactics Ogre PSP and Odin Sphere about 5 days apart after playing them both for the past 6 months. Both great games, I have essentially said all the great stuff I can about these games. Getting through the final boss battles in both games was pretty hard, but rewarding.

My new routine is to not buy any new games until I have beat a game I already have. So after 6 months of no new games I bought Rochard off of PSN and beat it in a few days. Great little game, I enjoyed the gameplay and story. Don't overlook it if you like 2D platformer/adventure/puzzler type games. The music was also great, despite it's sparse presence.

The wife and I have been playing Zelda: Skyward Sword. It has been slow going and it was driving me nuts last night, so I'm going to hold off on giving opinions until I'm in a better mood.

I also got Assassins Creed: Brotherhood for Christmas. The series is just nice and regular and hasn't disappointed yet. The story makes running around on rooftops fulfilling enough to keep pressing forward. That and I get obsessive with collecting in that game.

I've finally started playing Tactics Orge and I'm almost done the good guy route I guess it would be, and boy Denam sure reminds me of Ramza...

Just completed the ''traitor'' battle, now I'm trying to do the next one and I could see Gospels text, but the screen just stayed black when the ''battle'' started so I can't do anything.

Played it and it took about an hour, my favorite battle was probably the 2nd one that was the only one I almost got beaten in. I was left with Link against one of the Rangers and we both ran around collecting the crystals to prolong our lives. One of the few things on this board I've been interested in, in a long time and I'm very curious to see where it goes. Good luck, and excited for Chapter one!
