Help! / Re: Transforming Algus and disappearing Ramza

I think you're right about the derpy ENTD.  I ran through the intro again and recruited Algus as a non-generic and it worked up to sweegy woods.  I have no idea why it caused Ramza to leave though.  None of my ASM hacks affected faith in any way.  Regardless, thank you.

Hi everyone, I've somehow transformed Algus into a goblin during the battle at sweegy woods (in the scene before, he appeared just fine).  After that battle is over, I get a "parting shot" message and Ramza leaves the squad.  The Algus issue, I assume is caused by my messing with ENTD and setting him to be a generic at whatever point he was recruited.  The Ramza issue, however, I have no clue why that is occurring.  Has anyone seen this occur before?

I've used a ton of asm hacks, including Rad 3.1 (partially why I changed Algus to a generic), sprite replacing, and a ton of patcher work.  Let me know if this isn't enough info.

That was it.  My wife thought to check that too, when I asked her a couple days ago.  She saw that the version was higher than requisite for the program so ruled it out.  I just updated the .net and BAM, I'm in business!  Thank you Bonesy and Xifanie.

Wow!  That's amazing!  Thank you!  It bugs me that my computer won't run the standard set up, but I think doing ASM hacks this way might make me learn more anyway.  In addition, I tried downloading and running FFTorgASM to a different computer and it worked just fine!  Between your answer and the extra computer I think my problem is solved.  Thank you again!

Again, thank you.  You have been very helpful and I appreciate it.

I actually just went through ENTD this morning, trying to consolidate character sprites since all the generic sprites are linked (good laugh when Rad came out as a Cannoneer).  I am having other issues (can't start fftorgASM, posted in help section), however, that must be resolved before I can test out my original question.  I'll get back to you when I have answers, if only so others may have the knowledge as well.

Hi, so I looked through the threads to find some information and maybe it's just me and computer illiteracy  Sorry if this is inconvenient.  I am not a programmer of any variety.

When I go to open FFTorgASM I get the message in the attached png file.  Am I putting it in the wrong directory perhaps or is there something about my computer it doesn't like?

Thank you for the response!  I will test that when I finalize all of my changes.

If you'll humor me, I have another question:  Is there a way to make my new classes be randomly selected as a generic's class in random battles?  My new classes are going to be something of an upgrade to initial classes and I want to ensure that I maintain balanced gameplay (sure, I get access to mighty sword skills, but so do they).  It could be something of a pain if I have to go into ENTD and change it manually (also means I have to think harder ).

Hi, I have a question regarding RSM with this tool.  If you reset the skillsets, do you lose the learned RSM for that skillset as well?  For example:

I make a knight and have them progress to a new knight class.  If the new class doesn't have equip sword, shield, or armor; will they lose the ability to equip those support skills?

I'm trying to make some branching job trees and sort of re-balance everything according to my taste and losing the RSM for each new job/replacement would be inconvenient.
