Archives / Re: Enforced Generic Class Challenge

I've taken a bit of an interest in this as well, and I've noticed one particular oddity that really sticks out;

Black Magic spells (perhaps even all magic) are completely unevadable. Even with that OP, unintended, 50% Magic-EV Escutcheon, all spells against the holder show 100% accuracy. I'm not sure why this is. Physical attacks are still affected.

(I'll probably FFTastic the shield to a normal Escutcheon... eventually.)

EDIT: Also, despite the displayed cost of 5000 gil, new recruits cost a significant amount more. (5350 for a Female, at least)

FFT Arena / Re: Format Memory Card?

Well, I've found a workaround I believe. Essentially, I grabbed a memory conversion tool and transferred the save file from the GME to an MCR file, and it loads properly. I'm not entirely sure what the problem was with the GME, but as long as I've got things working, I'm happy.

Tried that just now, didn't seem to work unfortunately. It's still telling me to do a format D:

I could try posting my GME and Excel file if that would help. I'm sure there's something in there that would give away what I'm doing wrong.

FFT Arena / Format Memory Card?
« on: March 17, 2012, 03:51:04 AM »
I'm having problems getting the Memcard Generator to work for me. I put in the team data and all, that's fine. When I save the WinHex file, I load it up in FFTastic, resave it, and close FFTastic. I then load the memory card in ePSXe with the Arena patch, and it asks me if I want to format it or not. I have no idea what I did wrong, and I'm not sure if this has happened before. Any help would be appreciated.

Completed Patches / Re: Patch testing for WotL!

Still getting slowdown, however now the .prx is visible in the menu. Is there something else I have to do, perhaps try a different version of Livepatch?

I'm probably just missing something here, but I put the slowdown patch into the livepatch folder, in the fftpsp folder, in the root of my memory stick. All is fine there.

However, when I put the livepatch.prx into my seplugins folder and went to enable it, it wasn't listed. Am I doing something wrong? I have a PSP1000 with CFW 5.50 Prometheus 4.

Help! / Unit knows skills without learning them
« on: October 09, 2011, 05:18:34 PM »
I'm running into a problem with editing Samurai. I've taken skillset 53, put in some Dark Knight abilities, changed the sprite around, blah blah blah, and it all works fine, except for one thing.

Two of the abilities, Dark Sword (which I made seperate from Gafgarion's Dark Sword for a couple reasons; it's the new Protect 2) and Hell Shockwave (replaced Mind Break), are usable without having been learned.

I haven't FULLY tested this (as my little "test playthrough" currently only has one character with Dark Knight unlocked), but the problem is as I said; without buying them with JP, they show up as completely useable in the battle list. But, the wierd thing is, the other custom skill I put in, Dark Eternity (edit of Shell 2), works fine (as in doesn't show up without being learned).

I've taken some screenshots of the skillset and flags and whatnot for Dark Eternity and Hell Shockwave, in case there's something in their flags or whatever I'm not seeing that causes one to work but not the other;

Knowing me, it's probably something unbelievably simple.

Thanks in advance!

The very same! I'm on a few forums (most of which I just lurk on >_>), so if you see a FinalInsanity somewhere, that's more than likely me.

... and it's not me!

But since I'm here anyways; my name is Ted, and I'm a big fan of FFT. I enjoy making crazy battle setups and (attempting) to balance things for my own enjoyment. I've been screwing around with FFTPatcher and TacText for a little while now and decided "Hey, you know what I should do? Actually join these forums." So here I am. I guess I'll be around, though I've always been a lurker at heart. I'll probably be around the Help forum more than anything, since I'm always running into problems.
