Help! / Always Critical Animation?

was wondering if there was a way to make an skill always have crit animation? im trying to make the skill
"Sidewinder" and i want the skill to be High Dmg / Low Acc and when it does hit to have critical hit animation..
is this possible to do w/out ASM hacking? maybe and option im overlooking in fftpatcher?

Help! / previewing animations

is there a way to preview animations from say fftpatcher? what i mean is can i click "fire" animation button of some sort and see what it looks like in battle/game without actually having to load up emulator/iso/game/battle just to check what an animation looks like? It gets pretty tedious to check out the animations in game and know what new skill im trying to attach it to. i mean i memorized what alot of the animations look like but theres just to many to memorize and was wondering if there was an easy preview option. checked around the forums and didnt see anything in accordance to what im looking for, if there is please link it  :lol:

Axes & Flail damage becomes (Rdm{0..PA-1}+PA)*WP , does this mean axe damage is still random? or constant? im
looking for a hack that makes axe/flail constant damage instead of random.

Help! / changing weapon animations

for instance, i would like to make a "machine gun" type affect from a regular weapon and not as a skill. So say i wanted to
change romanda gun to a machine gun, is it possible to change its normal one hit animation to something like (repeating fist) animation? or create a completely new animation that looks like multi hit type of animation.

Spriting / Anyone know if this sprite has palettes?

If this Monica w/ cape has palettes? I would like to use this sprite as a regular class in my patch but im no good at spriting/changing palettes so was wondering if there was already one out there? or if someone has the time to possibly do palettes for her? Thanks in advance

southern sky. At the head of Northern sky duke larg, and duke goltana for southern. This story will tell the tale of how the 50 year war was played out..How the church of glabados first
learned of the zodiac stones and the secrets hidden withing the germonik scriptures, How the order of the eastern sky led by gafgarion ( allianced with order of the northern sky) and
there part in the 50 year war, as well as gafgarions brutal methods forcing him to become a mercenary, how young marquis elmdor fought with goltanna in the 50 year war as one of his generals and how he was a devout of the church of glabados, how vormav began the hunt for the zodiac stones with young rofel (second in command) under the high confessor funeral. One of the added areas this will take place is where King Denamda IV fought with Grand Duke barrington ( and his assasination squad Khamja), against Romanda. (just a minor part nothing big).

young gustav ( order of northern sky) and how he became death corps

theres a bunch more but just a glance...

i do appreciate any heavy criticism, i work on this daily, but this will take me awhile. ive put alot into it already, so please comment whatever u guys think. i will post what i have, when i can. thanks 8)

Help! / anyway to make an enchant spell?

What i mean by this is is there anyway to make a spell (for instance like ffxi redmage en-fire type) where you can imbue a weapon with a property through the
use of a skill. I know you can choose the elemental of your spell an so forth, but im looking along the lines of seeing say a flame on your blade when you attack
and for it to boost dmg a bit. I also know i can just use something like the fire spell/weapon strike, but not quite what im looking for. If anyone understands what im talking about, if this is possible through animation editing or what not, please advise me. thanks  :P

Help! / New to Event text editing

ok so i open up the PSX events file where has all the text for events...but the events are not in chronological order, and some are repeated like 10x...im very confused...how do i go about summarizing these events or do i have to change the words literally like every time? Sorry just very new to the text editing stuff...and i couldnt seem to find a tutorial..

Wall status does nothing and AI attacks units with wall status.

0x124AE2
change 40 to 00
0x137F56
change 80 to 00

This makes the status itself blank, but allows the CT to be used elsewhere, or you can code your own status effect if you really wanted to.


SO, my question is, if i Implement this hack, could I essentially use it as a provoke type of skill where AI is forced to attack one unit if it has wall active? Or am I understanding it wrong? And will the AI still attack other units in range or focus solely on this unit?

Help! / changing color of poison?

How would I go about doing this?  Say if i wanted to change the color of a poisoned unit to red instead, to cause a new status, "bleed". Also is it possible to increase the damage every
round to a higher interval, say if poisons at like 10% now can i change it to 15%?

i know in patcher you can click on require sword or requires materia  blade, but is there a way to do it with all other weapons? for instance, if i wanted to do a skill like
Bloody Spear - Absorb HP formula - but (Spear) only...is that possible? or ASM hacking only?

Help! / editing text in events

is there a simple way to just edit the text dialog going on in events? i really am no good at using the event tools and tutorials help but its just difficult for me. as far as i can see, FFTactext doesnt let you change text in events, is there any other program that does? or if anyone has a easy enough tutorial that could help a noob like me.

Help! / Condensing Alma

I know this topic was around somewhere, but exactly which alma in shishi would be the one that is used for formation? for instance if i changed the unit.bin in shishi to a different sprite, how would i know if she would show up in formation as my new sprite? Is it alma 13 (battle) , alma 2b (dead), or alma 2f (events)? Which one would i  use for ENTD?

Help! / Multi Hit Skills?

Basically this, taken (from Celdia's Patch)

"Thousand Blades: Throw a series of daggers at a nearby enemy. Moderate non-elemental damage. Strikes 5 times"

What kind of formula would i use for something to strike 5x? Could i do the same with, lets say a shuriken?
And is it possible to do this with skills as well in regulard FFT not FFTWOTL, because i know WOTL has barrage, but i want something
along the lines of just a double or triple attack? if theres a tutorial or post on this that i didnt see i apologize in advance.

Help! / Transform Spell?

Hi, im still very new to hacking, and just had a question of if this is even possible. Is it possible to have a spell to transform your character mid battle? say a knight into a monster of some sort? or like a legend of dragoon type of transformation into a more armored version of a sprite? And was wondering if it was possible to do it without an event, say with the use of the frog spell's formula but change the frog sprite into something else. Im sure this is a very noob question but just wondering if it is possible and how much ASM hacking is needed or if everything is just hardcoded.
