News:

Use of ePSXe before 2.0 is highly discouraged. Mednafen, RetroArch, and Duckstation are recommended for playing/testing, pSX is recommended for debugging.

She's actually Pleinair, the signature character of Harada, the character designer for a number of NIS games. You can find her in Disgaea as the dark council secretary (she's even playable in the DS version), Disgaea 2 as comic relief news anchor (also purported to be playable in the upcoming PSP release), and Disgaea 3 (also playable via DLC pack).

I was planning on rolling out Laharl, Etna, Flonne, and Pleinair, maybe work on a few others if I don't go insane or totally neglect to finish.

Arai Akino is better. And Shibata Jun, for that matter.

Yeah, I find it difficult to mimic artistic style when working on a pixel level. It's really not my forte, sadly... Practice never hurts, though, right?

And I suppose I could develop Kirby into a monster class. Maybe as a replacement for Bomb?

Eh? Yeah, he's facing the wrong way, but it's a joke, in any case.

Not totally thrilled with it, but improvements are being made.

Still trying my hand at pixel art in lieu of resizing full images.

Pleinair:

Eh, she turned out a little better than Etna, I guess.

It's the spam forum, does there have to be a reason?

Brave Story profiles. Pull up a character's entry, it lists their age there. If you're bored enough, you can also find every character's birthday in the event files. Actually, doing that, I found Lavian shares my birthday. :o

Quote from: "ShadowX"That was the only bad game they had on the DS so far
Eh, I wasn't too keen on Revenant Wings, and the Final Fantasy III remake is one of the most boring games I've ever played. Really, I liked the original FFIII, but it's hard to be enthusiastic about a game when every character in it looks bored out of their mind.

That could be fun. Just give them a really large movement radius, 1000 needles (man, that would really hurt in this game x_x), and an inclination toward running away. Though I'm not sure how to accomplish that last part... inherent chicken would alter their sprite, would it not? Oh, could change the chicken sprite to a Cactuar! :D

I'd take FFTA2 over FFTA, at any rate. FFTA was nothing but Marche being an insufferable douchebag, and a lot of annoying bullshit from Judges. Actually, I dislike FFTA2 for the latter point, as well. Fake difficulty via arbitrary rules that only apply to you and not your opponent should be illegal.

I would think it would be more interesting to actually make a Mirror Shield item than give him an auto-reflect support ability. Could make a Master Sword item, too. I'm not sure how you'd handle the ocarina, though...

Um, in the PSX version, my characters always aged on their birthdays. I have a save where Orinas is 14 years old, as a result.

As artists, we are our own worst critics. We see the flaws buried deep within our works that all but the trained eye will gloss over*, so the humility tends to come naturally. You have a good eye for color matching and balance, and the ability to accurately emulate another artist's style with original work is a nice skill to have, which you can pull off convincingly.

I do remain curious as to the degree of your culinary talent, however, after boasting that you are a better chef than artist. :p

* Unless the work really is of mediocre caliber, as is the case with my own pixel art. </hypocrisy>
