Odd Problem

Hey guys, I'm new here and to the whole epsxe/hacking thing in general.  My problem with epsxe is that after I click the "X" to close the window I'm playing FFT in, the sound continues on until I go into task manager and manually exit the program.  Is this normal, or is there an easy fix?  Thanks for your help in advanced!

While playing the game, press esc to go the the espxe menu, then go to file->exit. See if that works.

Silent One is dead on. ePSXE is a little annoying in that regard. You can't just close the emulator while the game is running: you have to hit esc and then either go to "File" then "Exit", as previously mentioned, or you can just close that window.
