Help with finding Battle.bin?

Hello, i'm very new to hacking and after seeing what you guy's did with this amazing game I'd like to do some hacking as well.  My first question is where do I find Battle.bin.  I want to use hex editor to change attack animations like from casting to sword strike.  I'm pretty sure it needs to be ripped from the game iso but what program do I use to do that?  Also what is the best program for editing sprites?

You should use CD Mage, it is in the Miscellaneous downloads part of the main site.

Awsome thanks!, I got one other question.  I've been editing the portrait for ramza and when I import it into shishi I get an error message saying something about something being invalid and having bad pixels. Does anybody know how to fix this?

you can't just import a portrait. You have to export the sprite, edit the palette, change the portrait, change the palette back to the original, and import the image back into the sprite file. There are tutorials in the forums and the main site.
