Ye be liking the ranking system?

I can see some trolls raising their postcount here and there... so just wondering.

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)

Nay.

I don't think there should be ranks, at least not ranks based on post count.

Don't know if it's possible, but maybe do it like SDA, where we can choose ourselves the rank we have? Or let the admin do that.

If people choose their own ranks, it will end up a complete mess. I imagine, anyways. I'm not familiar with the board you mentioned, so perhaps it works better than I imagine. But having the administrator assign ranks would create a lot of unnecessary work for him.

Perhaps the rank system just needs more space between each rank? Could we see a complete list?

Nah... This ranking system is perfect.  Anything different would be too much work for one person or another.

SDA stands for Speed Demo Archive, a site dedicated to making recordings of game playthroughs played as fast as possible in realtime.  It can be considered to be in direct competition with TASVideos (stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun Videos).

I'd rather not be labeled as a ______ (insert current rank here) but I do believe there should be a visible difference between those that have been part of this for a long time and those who have just joined.

The ranking system is fine, but if this board stays up for a long time then it should be edited.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

Yeah... I suppose I could add the a simplified version of the join date next to the postcount.

Like [09/16/07]

But not now, working on maps. =o

Do ranks even matter? You can tell if someone has contributed or not if you could identify who they are, not by their post-count. If anything, it's possible to just remove them as a whole.

no, I mean what I said. Perhaps if I said it in Japanese it'd become magically better for you. - philsov

This topic is so dead and I didn't even notice it till just now. But in the spirit of being a Final Fantasy Site, why not let users choose their own "Job" instead of a rank. I could really care less, but the idea popped in my head and I thought I would share.
