As I'm testing a playthrough, might as well critique what I found. I'm done with chapter one, and it went pretty well. I like that I can buy items everywhere, so I don't have to backtrack as much. As for the battles, I found magic pretty awesome, but I thought Vanilla was the same in that regard. Quite a lot storybattles are killing one dude, and they die quickly with 3 black mages. This is especially nice since you don't have to grind much, which I loathe quite a bit. I guess the party will end up with monks, a summoner and another mage, and Ramza can switch as needed. Then the side-quests, which should be harder, and that is where the testing really begins. Oh well, I might just use lioneditor to quickly gain some jp. Time to see the world as it is, and become the Beoulve Ramza does not care to be, in chapter 2.

Ok, Ill try that.

Is it alright that all the text is severely screwed up, or did the patcing go wrong somewhere? When I use the unit-screen in-battle, squires are called Arch-Seraphs, Chemists squires, knights chemists, etc. Skillnames also look to be misplaced by one. Also, HiyTEther, and other mishaps.

That would be lovely. Is the version to be tested 2.3 (currently up), or is it new?

If you have a nice list of when you are supposed to get what, then sure. I suppose they are specific move/find-item, steals, or loot from story battles, so I don't have to go out of the way to check every town after every storybattle?

I do not want to pet it anymore, it looks like it would hurt. I don't think the bottom half of the mouth needs the same treatment.

I tried to not post, but I couldn't, one look from that bad-ass Geomancer made so afraid I had to tell you, that sprite is awesome.

Nah, just means that you wish someone a good fare. Probably used when people went on a boat to far far away and never seen again, but not neccassarily. In any case, fare thee well, fdc.

The only thing I can think of when I see the portrait to improve, is that it looks a bit like a line drawing coloured in. Especially the right side of the portrait is egregious in this respect. The red eyes look very nice, the hair is awesome.

Ok, here is second, definite version. Moving on with the sheet now.

Somehow, if there would be a sprite, this would be the one to feature a nice fat belly. He looks a bit planky, imo.

The inside of his mouth looks depthless, because there is no escape. Get in, keep falling, slowly being digested by the sweet juices of the flan, who keeps smiling all the while. He's dark because of the darkness of the people he ate. He's solid, because it's a solid portrait of the flan.

66 wpm, 100% accuracy, enchanted type writer, English as second language.
In my first language I got 59 wpm, 96% accuracy =/
In French and German I got about 50 wpm, 94% accuracy, which is on the brink of avarage and fast.

QuoteIN the year 1878 I took my degree of Doctor of Medicine of the University of London, and proceeded to Netley to go through the course prescribed for surgeons in the army. Having completed my studies there, I was duly attached to the Fifth Northumberland Fusiliers as Assistant Surgeon. The regiment was stationed in India at the time, and before I could join it, the second Afghan war had broken out. On landing at Bombay, I learned that my corps had advanced through the passes, and was already deep in the enemy's country. I followed, however, with many other officers who were in the same situation as myself, and succeeded in reaching Candahar in safety, where I found my regiment, and at once entered upon my new duties.

The campaign brought honours and promotion to many, but for me it had nothing but misfortune and disaster. I was removed from my brigade and attached to the Berkshires, with whom I served at the fatal battle of Maiwand. There I was struck on the shoulder by a Jezail bullet, which shattered the bone and grazed the subclavian artery. I should have fallen into the hands of the murderous Ghazis had it not been for the devotion and courage shown by Murray, my orderly, who threw me across a pack-horse, and succeeded in bringing me safely to the British lines.

Worn with pain, and weak from the prolonged hardships which I had undergone, I was removed, with a great train of wounded sufferers, to the base hospital at Peshawar. Here I rallied, and had already improved so far as to be able to walk about the wards, and even to bask a little upon the verandah, when I was struck down by enteric fever, that curse of our Indian possessions. For months my life was despaired of, and when at last I came to myself and became convalescent, I was so weak and emaciated that a medical board determined that not a day should be lost in sending me back to England. I was dispatched, accordingly, in the troopship "Orontes," and landed a month later on Portsmouth jetty, with my health irretrievably ruined, but with permission from a paternal government to spend the next nine months in attempting to improve it.

I had neither kith nor kin in England, and was therefore as free as air--or as free as an income of eleven shillings and sixpence a day will permit a man to be. Under such circumstances, I naturally gravitated to London, that great cesspool into which all the loungers and idlers of the Empire are irresistibly drained. There I stayed for some time at a private hotel in the Strand, leading a comfortless, meaningless existence, and spending such money as I had, considerably more freely than I ought. So alarming did the state of my finances become, that I soon realized that I must either leave the metropolis and rusticate somewhere in the country, or that I must make a complete alteration in my style of living. Choosing the latter alternative, I began by making up my mind to leave the hotel, and to take up my quarters in some less pretentious and less expensive domicile.

On the very day that I had come to this conclusion, I was standing at the Criterion Bar, when some one tapped me on the shoulder, and turning round I recognized young Stamford, who had been a dresser under me at Barts. The sight of a friendly face in the great wilderness of London is a pleasant thing indeed to a lonely man. In old days Stamford had never been a particular crony of mine, but now I hailed him with enthusiasm, and he, in his turn, appeared to be delighted to see me. In the exuberance of my joy, I asked him to lunch with me at the Holborn, and we started off together in a hansom.

PSX FFT Hacking / Re: Setting Job Limits
March 19, 2012, 05:46:22 am
Nooooo, as Xifanie shows in her example:

Dark Knight (=Chemist): Requires level 2 Dark Knight
Black Mage: Requires level 2 Dark Knight
Holy Knight (=Mediator): Requires level 2 Holy Knight
White Mage: Requires level 2 Holy Knight
Agrias joins with level 2 Holy Knight, Gaf joins with level 2 Dark Knight.

Squire is always unlocked, and thus you can't have a special job (say, Mechanic) replace the squire class, since you cannot set Squire level 2 as requirement to unlock the squire class. What I think Dome means is that if you still want generics with a job tree, use another class than squire as base. Usually chemist is used for this, but it doesn't really matter.

I just love how silly a floating cube is as the last remains of a blob of goo of undefined form that goos it's way where it wants to go. Also, nothing like it is in the game yet, which means a nice change of all those "iconic body part" monsters.

It looks like a post-apocalyptic helmet to me.

I took a final fantasy xii flan, worked some ms paint magic (I don't know how it happened) to reduce it to Ljj's colours, and this came out. I don't like the eyes, but I can't sprite.
