Vertical Fixed and Vertical Tolerance

Started by Krendall, January 26, 2014, 11:39:39 am

I've searched here and I've checked the wiki, but I'm still not sure what the difference is between Vertical Fixed and Vertical Tolerance and when I should or shouldn't have them checked. Could someone please explain them to me?

Xifanie

Vertical Tolerance/Threshold
You can only target so much higher or lower. Limited by the "Vertical" Variable.

Example with Vertical Tolerance: Mimic Daravon
Example without: Stasis Sword (you can target at any height)

Vertical Fixed
Panels can only be affected based on the caster's tile height.

Examples with Vertical Fixed: Earth Slash, Holy Explosion
Examples without: Pretty much anything else

Love what you're seeing? https://supportus.ffhacktics.com/ 💜 it's really appreciated

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)
<R999> My target market is not FFT mod players
<Raijinili> remember that? it was awful

Okay, then another question:
Lightning Stab has a default Vertical of 1 but neither Vertical Tolerance or Vertical Fixed are checked. What effect does the Vertical have on the move?

Xifanie

Only on the AoE (Area of Effect), meaning adjacent tiles to the one you target.
If you target a tile with 4h, it will also effect adjacent tiles with 3h to 5h.

Ah, okay. I think I get it now. Thank you.
