Ah, sorry about that. The Divisor is in Raven's Terrain, Status, and Multiplier Workbooks. I wouldn't have mentioned this at all had that part not already been found, hehe. My first worry was that it wasn't dynamic, but that was also my first test. The "???" is dynamically loaded and can be added and removed whenever one would please, had there been functionality for it in the game itself.

Hello Choto, I have a little bit of a request, but its a request I can put forth with full details, I would try my hand at it myself, but I'm not really sure about correct PSX ASM terminology and the like or where this formula is in RAM or ROM.

Do you recall the "Libra" skills from other FF games? It shows you the enemy's stats, weaknesses, etc. Well I always thought that the "???" would be a perfect reason for a Libra skill in FFT. In a normal sense its plain why they didn't use anything like that, because removing the "???" normally means they have about 999 HP.

But with the ability to change the divisor of HP that "???" increases there's no need for any HP increase at all.

Here is the thought. To take formula 5D Dragon: Set_Quick and change it to 5D Clear ??? from Target if applicable.

The way to go about this is rather simple. Have the code look at the target's stats. Look at 0x0006 (where the formula for Steal Heart would look) and have it look for a 04 bit. If found, Libra would minus that value by 04, thereby showing you the stats and equipment of the enemy in question. The exceptions would be if the enemy is a Monster and Male/Female to allow players the choice to have enemies that they don't want scanned to not be scanned (or use an unknown in the ENTD if easier)

This is just a thought I'd throw out there, but it might help people who want to keep more than the Lucavi mysteries, but also in giving it a classic FF feel with Libra.

Those are looking pretty good! We've had the Dark Knight Cecil for some time now, it's about time we get the Paladin as well, hehe.

Always glad to see a fan of St. Ajora Ashiel, haha! That said your tutorial is fantastic! I was not aware of this bug, what a strange exception... I have to wonder if it might be easier to find the root of the issue, but for now it seems that we have to dance around it and your tutorial works out to a great extent for that!

That Cecil is amazing! Also I am always glad to see some support for Bravely Default and that Tiz Sprite looks fantastic so far! And that Judge...! You've been doing some incredible work lately, keep it up Seushiro!

I am always glad to see some love for Bravely Default, that was an incredible game and how fitting that Yoshida's characters would be turned into classic Sprite forms, hehe. Keep up the great work, I found Bravely Default to be a breath of fresh air from a company that has mostly stagnated.

Whoa! Using "Missing" for something other than an idiotic "Sorry you left that unit on Proposition when you changed chapter!" Is a stroke of genius and makes Perfect sense!

New Project Ideas / Re: Patch Ideas Proposal Thread

I hadn't thought of that. It makes sense that the generics would eventually be replaced by the actual characters. Good thinking Smitson!  (Once Orlandu joins with his broken Excalibur... it would definitely be an uphill struggle.)

Another part of the hack would be to presume that the Ramza party would not be oblivious to what is coming ahead, so several of the party members for the Elmdor fight, for instance, would be immune to Blood Suck, Stop, and KO.

You have it right Elric. And indeed Cheetah, you would have control of the entire team of enemies.

I think the event dialogue could stay, yeah. There's nothing wrong I can see with it and it helps characterize these often ragtag groups. The assassination missions would probably be some of the most difficult, I would imagine. (A simple victory to defeat change sort of deal) but for obvious reasons there wouldn't be any assassination missions as the enemy.

I had an idea that seemed like it could potentially be interesting and the best part about it is that (in theory...) it shouldn't take that much work to actually do.

The idea I have is "FFT:Enemy Mode". Where you play each battle as the enemy for any given battle vs. Ramza's party.

So say it starts at Gariland. Ramza would have four named generics and Delita all at Level 1 vs. the desperate rogues. Then after victory there it would go to Mandalia where Ramza's party is a little more powerful.

This would give the player some unique opportunities to play as characters like the Lucavi and the Shrine Knights and have no need for a convoluted explanation, only being that you are taking the role of the Enemy vs. Ramza's continually progressing party. It would also be a sort of "challenge mode" as, for the most part, you will be stuck with the items and abilities that are randomly loaded (or in some cases set) on your own party of enemy combatants versus what Ramza's party (as dependent on shop unlocks at the current time) will have.

Now That is impressive Raven! I never would have dreamed it would have worked that way...

Thanks for the thorough explanation.

The ability description is incorrect (always has been) but I *think* there's a hack that fixes that... somewhere. Because yes, Monster Skill is nigh useless normally.

The Dream Team is back together! Alright! With that confirmed (and with only 30,000 left to make) I've done my small part of pledging 20$ (mainly to get the game when its released)

Forget my doom and gloom, it looks as if Matsuno is back in full force!

Haha! What a silly thing for Square to do! Well that is grand news indeed and it seems as if all future tools are going to take this redundancy and compound it so all of this will be usable eh? That is looking outside the box, again, fantastic work to everyone involved. This project not only helped the FFT Community in all, but also improved our event editing capabilities by tons!

Really? Set-ups are not needed at all? I thought they decided things like if Ramza is mandatory, which ENTD's to load, music, time of day... that sort of thing? Are you telling me that those aren't actually Used or Referenced at all?

Hmm? 150+ New events? Where did this space come from? Is it replacing anything or is it just naturally there? Regardless it is great to hear that you managed to solve the New Game+ conundrum! I wonder why it is programmed in such a strange manner?

Always glad to see a familiar face, Cheetah. Not to say that there still aren't a lot of veterans about, Xifanie seems as busy as ever in making new hacks, Elric's blossomed into the foremost face of FFH with his own highly unique repertoire of skills and the rest of the crew is still busy at work with Arena or putting together their own ideas. The only noticeable face I see missing is Eternal.

In any case my interests have been subverted for the time being, but I'm never one to give something up for ever. I'm a fairly... cyclical person. My first attempt at hacking games started with FFII SNES, experimenting with game genie codes and the like. Then as I grew older I started to learn how to mod Zelda 64 and from Zelda 64 to FFT, then FFT to the older .hack// games, and finally .hack// back to FFIV, my first original interest of modifying the data, but there I can say I've grown substantially as a hacker with learning that came from revisiting the Zelda 64 scene for a while.

As has always been my penchant, I have wrote up full lists of disassembly of routines in FFIV with full and clear understanding unto their underlying meanings (for the first part)

My FFIV Hacking Page

I have written nearly 50 new routines. Some minor changes to what was already there and some major changes that leaves no shadow of the original data. Whenever I do return to FFH in an actually... contributing manner, I think my vastly improved ASM skills will hopefully be able to help people in a more meaningful manner than I had in the past.

But I digress, I am always glad to see the leaps and strides this site has made. Elric's The Lion War project in particular looks to be a highly impressive work.

You might have a point. Perhaps its improper to say that Matsuno's name has diminished as of late there were a mess of other issues. Maybe I'm being too doom and gloom about it.

Why in heaven's name are you posting these absolutely incredible, wonderfully detailed, highly explorative pieces of fan art in spam?! Surely these deserve to be put in General.

I am afraid that's probably going to be it then... Despite Matsuno putting everything he had into the project and even enticing Sakimoto and Yoshida to jump aboard his name recognition alone was not enough to carry a kickstarter to its final goal. Had this been four or even three years ago this really might have stood a chance, but Matsuno's name has been too long gone from the matters of importance in the industry that people have begun to forget about the pioneer of Tactics games.

With this failure, even after uniting his team, will likely disillusion the man himself to continue with game designing all together.

It is a true shame. This project seemed like it could have been promising with what snippets of information we were told but public apathy and poor planning on Playdek's part ruined the best chances for it.
