The Lounge / Jumza's mod on PCGamer.com

So here I am, minding my own business, and PC Gamer is like, "Hey bud, remember FFH?".

Presumably you folks know that Jumza's Reach the Future mod was featured on PC Gamer's website, but if not, here is the link: https://www.pcgamer.com/check-out-this-ambitious-final-fantasy-tactics-mod/

Honestly, I don't remember what EVTCHR I was trying to pull up. That's why I was just gonna plug the event in and see what came out, and hope whatever there was would jog my memory. I got the general idea of what scene I was writing from the text at the bottom, but I'm still a little lost. I'm actually surprised at how much is coming back to me which is a good sign, but I'm still looking at the code thinking "I wrote this?".

My Config.ini has been updated, but I think I might just rewrite the entire event, since it's not too long.

Yeah, I just started getting back into this and I have updated most everything, but I guess I missed the config.ini, I'll do that then. This was an event that I was in the middle of writing about two years ago. I just trying to plug it into the game to see where I was at.

Thank for your help, peoples.

Hey all,

Its been quite some time since I've done any work here, and I'm relearning event editing. I've run into a snag. When I try to compile this event, I get this error - 'x' is not a valid integer value. I assumed this meant I had 'x' set as a value somewhere in my commands, but I've been over it a few times know. If it is there, I've become codeblind to it. If it is some other silly mistake I am making, I'd appreciate some coaching on that.

Here is the event:

Spriting / Re: The K Suto's Sprites

Here's my progress at this point.

If anyone wants to take a hack at the portrait, I based it on this guy: http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100414183328/pokemon/images/4/47/Pokemon_trainer.png without the white semicircle on the front of the hat.

I'm getting it done.  I wonder if the actual pokemon sprites should be done as human sprite to allow for more animations like sing and such.

Got bored/complacent with the new Lucavi idea, so I decided to work on a Pokemon Trainer sprite.

I've only checked in ShiShi, and it looks fine there.  I've kinda hit a brick wall for the rear animations.  They look like crap since I can't decide how the phantom arms should look from behind.  Hopefully working on other sprites will get the creative juices flowing again.

I started working on a rendition of smash's Mateus but got bored/frustrated with it. I aimed more for the original source material where the arms were restrained above the head and two supplementary arms which I made into a sort of shadow flame arms.

Here it is:

I was inspired more by this thread: http://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=5373.0
I'm gonna try to finish Smash's Mateus if at all possible.  It might be too big a task for my skill, but if I fail, I will at least fail at something spectacular.

Actually, I was thinking about reworking Hashmallow and also creating a new Lucavi.

I suppose I've done enough spriting to warrant making my own thread.  I might come back through and reformat this post to contain completed sprite sheets.  Either way to kick it off, I'm just doing a Velius recolor.  I was always bothered by Big V having what looked like gauntlets and boots, but were colored the same as his skin.  Here is the preview:

Help! / Re: Monster animations in Shishi
June 02, 2013, 11:15:18 pm
Uh... I guess situation resolved.  I can't get Monster sprites to animate in Shishi, but lirmont's Win32 Sprite animator can animate it just fine.

Help! / Monster animations in Shishi
June 02, 2013, 05:31:10 pm
Hello all,

I am making a monster sprite, but Shishi sprite manager will not animate monster sprites.  Is there a version that does animate monster sprites, or is there a work around that I can use to if it animates well? Or am I out of luck? I used the search function, but only found someone having my same problem back in 2010.

Spriting / Re: New Blue Mage Sprite

Celdy, glad I could make it. It was such good design, I always hopped smash would finish it.  Also, does your portrait have a sprite to go with it?  I've always wanted to have the sprites of the Dragon Force monarchs.

The Damned, I would like to make a female blue mage, as well.  I'd like to keep it middle eastern/southwest Asian themed, as well.  I think I'd use something other than a turban, though.  Using and abaya style would be worth a go, but I don't know if I could pull it off without it looking like a male ninja knockoff.  We'll see though.

BOOM! DONE!

I ran through all the frames, and everything looks grand to me, but I need a second set of eyes to double check.  Also, Mobius, if you were going to work any of your artistic magic, I say go for it mang!  Also, I figure you would add the portrait as well.
