Another bug: game crashes out during chapter III's puppet battle at Mourning Plains. It appears to be triggered when Silye attempts to take her first turn of the battle. There's no way I have found to avoid the crash. Happy to provide any additional information you might need.

Yeah, I seem to always lose stolen gear. Makes the thieves much less desirable as a class... My inventory is in shambles right now as a result of the inventory loss bug and the lack of accumulated stolen items.

News / Re: WotL on Android

Haven't had this problem, DeadRamza. I've played through the WotL Android version several times now with no crash. Knowing what I do about building Android apps, I'm blaming Samsung. ;)

Seems like a decent change.

I love the revised script, but I *still* haven't made it all the way through it. ;)

If I find anything glaringly out-of-place, I'll note it -- but so far it's gravy.

Sorry for the delay, Dome.  Haven't seen a ton of action in this thread lately so I don't check as often.

I DEFINITELY support a new skillset for knights.  I never use them for anything other than learning Equip Armor/Shield/Sword.  I think they really need to be reworked into a more appropriate job.  Knights aren't necessarily known for breaking things; they're know for gallantry.

So perhaps a skillset based around superior strength in attacking and teammate buffing?

I think this is a great idea, especially in the early game.

Some monsters are not aligned with an element atm
Do you think it should stay this way, or each monster should get an elemental affinity?

Second question:
At the moment, monsters with an elemental affinity absorb their element & are weak against another
Is it all right for you? Or should monster get more? For example, 2 absorb - 1 Weak - 1 Null - 2 Half?

Discuss
P.s: I'm asking this because I feel (And I'm not the only one) elements are underrated at the moment
With the introduction of more "elemental" spells (Like Idro, Aero & Quake), giving each monster an element would give the player more reasons to use them

Answer 1: I don't think that *every* monster necessarily needs an element, but most of them should have one.

Answer 2: I think that every monster should have one affinity that causes absorption, but in certain cases could be weak/null/half'd against multiple elements as needed.  Case-by-case basis and what not.

Random Idea:
Lighting stab should be Orlandu-only
Agrias should lose Holy Explosion/Lighting stab and gain cure/cure2/raise/Esuna
Name of her job becomes paladin

Y/N?

  • Love the Orlandu-only idea.

  • Agrias should keep Holy Explosion but lose Lightning Stab -- and, as for White Magic skills, I think Cure/Raise would be enough.

  • Love the job rename.

I am 99% certain that katana breakage occurs randomly when you have in "storage" only *one* blade of the type you're attempting to utilize via Draw Out.  If you own two of those blades, the katana will never break and you'll have two in perpetuity.  However, if you own two blades and equip one, you're vulnerable to the breakage.

And, as has been mentioned already, the breakage notification does not appear so you'll have no way of knowing when it occurs unless you're constantly monitoring your inventory.

Mustadio's skill are going to see an accuracy increase in 1.01c, while Beowulf's have been nerfed :-)
Enjoy! XD

Ops, forgot to add them to the master guide xD
The only relevant ability for this fight is "Focus" an instant-Ramza only skill that adds Regen, Protect and Shell on self for 15 Mp
But it's random flagged

What about Ultima?  Is that in Ramza's arsenal?

If Ultima is included, I'm going with Ramza -- otherwise I'm sticking with Delita.

Quote from: shoruke on January 31, 2012, 12:45:10 pmMustadio can cripple almost any non-boss enemy at range with reasonable accuracy (handy for random encounters, if not boss fights) and utterly perma-own any undead enemies he meets

The same "crippling" can be done by Beowulf -- who also has the ability to petrify anything, not just undead.  Additionally, his skillset is much more complimentary to other jobs; Mustadio, by constrast, is most effective when using ranged weaponry.

Quote from: shoruke on January 31, 2012, 12:45:10 pmand Worker 8 is basically a machinegun turret that is immune to all magic (even the goddamn BANHAMMER) and can heal itself. And just for bonus points, you can have him interrupt enemy's spellcasting/performing/etc. if you don't feel like just having him dole out damage like the walking tank he is.

He's a very effective killing machine, of this there is no doubt.  But that's *all* he does!  He provides no benefit to the party aside from being a tank -- literally! -- so why not just use a human or monster that can attack *and* buff/heal/raise if needed?

Again, just my $0.02 -- YMMV!

Can you explain why?

Sure.  For one, I personally feel that the game is very much weighted towards the Female characters -- their exclusive access to handbags, carpets, hair-"jewelry" and perfumes make them quite potent indeed.  So when I build a FFT+ battle group, I will stack it with female special units.  By end-game, it was Ramza + Rafa, Meliadoul, Agrias and Reis.  Four ribbon-wearing ladies all with Chantage?  Easy peazy lemon squeezy.

So, right off the bat, the male special units are at a disadvantage.  So when I consider uselessness, I have to ask myself: what *uniqueness* does a male special unit bring to the table?  In the case of Mustadio, his special skillset -- Snipe -- has nothing that really makes him stand apart.  He's got a mix of Oracle skills and Knight skills -- so why use him over Beowulf?  I really cannot find a reason aside from a higher Brave value.

As for Worker 8, "he" is a very fun Special Unit since he's so unlike anything else in the game.  But he's incredibly limited and becomes very dull to use after a while.  The only time I've used him at all, in fact, is after getting to DD and making it a goal to get every Special Unit (including Rad and one Onion Knight) to level 99.

Just my $0.02

I would say Worker 8 and Mustadio are the worst by far.

Wow.  What an epic rant that is just so ridiculously off-the-mark!  I breezed through FFT+ without much trouble at all.  I'm at DD now and *that* is really the only insanely challenging aspect of this mod.  And I did this without resorting to save-state scumming or using a *single* non-human character -- and that includes Boco and Worker 8.  I only used those two after getting to Deep Dungeon in an attempt to bring every character up to level 99 (a task which I've almost completed).

Are you sure you applied the right patch???

Wow.  Let's keep it civil...

Further more the description of the skill says add Protect, shell or defend which would indicate it should only apply one.

In case you weren't aware, the logical construct you're actually describing is actually called Exclusive Disjunction (exclusive 'or'): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exclusive_or

The actual definition of 'or,' also known as logical disjunction, says that one or more of the operands will be true: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_disjunction

Now, with that said, the ordinary language interpretation of 'or' is a bit less clear -- in American English, for example, we often use the term to mean both exclusive and 'normal' disjunction.  In this case, it's unclear from the context which is accurate so my advise is to not make any assumptions. :)

Perhaps...

Malak (Hell Knight):

Un-truth
Throw
Abandon
Precision
Move+1

Sasuke Knife
Sasuke Knife
Flash Hat
Secret Clothes
Diamond Armlet

Rafa (Heaven Knight):

Truth
White Magic
Abandon
Short Charge
Move+1

Mace of Zeus
<EMPTY>
Thief Hat
Secret Clothes
Cherche

Although I still think this favors Malak a great deal.

What do you mean with flattering equipment?

Well, to be honest, based on their special class, with generic equipment I'm fairly certain that Malak would dominate Rafa.  I think Rafa would need to have some really well thought-out equipment to battle the much more physical Malak.  I'm trying to think about what I would do to prepare her for that battle...
