Fine. Since he does die at fort Ziekden, while he was revived as a zombie by Elmdor, he was re-killed right after. The Ex-Shrine knights found the name Sadalfas in history, and seeing how they ended up, they decided to revive Algus. They revived him from a multitude of other crystal stratums(the crystals that are left behind when someone dies). He looked perfectly fine, but, sadly for him, the crystals weren't sufficient and his body's molecular structure is breaking down. Basically, his revived body is degrading. Eventually his body will break down completely and he will cease to exist. Even his soul will be gone.

Now, if you want to know WHAT he is trying to do to stop it, send me a message, cause its a MAJOR plot point.

I would think it would be more interesting to actually make a Mirror Shield item than give him an auto-reflect support ability. Could make a Master Sword item, too. I'm not sure how you'd handle the ocarina, though...

The Ocarina would just have to be in his spell animations.
