News:

Use of ePSXe before 2.0 is highly discouraged. Mednafen, RetroArch, and Duckstation are recommended for playing/testing, pSX is recommended for debugging.

Did they find a way to fix that lag yet?

Oh, kay

Does running it from an ISO on Slim help out though? xD

*Hasn't heard much about the game, since it's first release*

Unfortunately, running it as an ISO on the Slim doesn't eliminate the lag. But, it does make loading times almost non-existent.

Oh...well, good enough I guess =)

I think I'll just play it regular though, 1.3 is intolerable enough WITHOUT lag =p

I haven't even noticed lag while playing the PSP Version
I refuse to play Final Fantasy Tactics again until I am able to do my FF6 patch! And, FFT 1.3 doesn't technically count as FFT: so there!

i heard that the skill animations were deliberately programmed to be capped at a certain fps and that there is no way to fix that. (for the psp version)

When you perform any action that loads an effect file the graphic effect has lag.
For example, Gafgarion uses Night Sword. The effect file and sound effect start at the same time, but the sound effect finishes waaay before the graphic effect is even 1/2 way done. Shamefully unsynced.

see, the fact that the sound executes normally is proof that its not actually lag...

Why would they deliberately make that feature act like ass? It's stupid.

The sound is quite a bit off for effect animations for me, and it's not just the effect that's running slow, either. Music continues to play at normal speed, but the effect's sound will stutter while the video speed is cut in half.

So how many people are playing the psx version on the psp vs. the psp version? I guess I just wanted to play the new content but the sound and lag just suck.

Not to sound like a non-critic, but I actually prefer the remake. For starters, yes every remake has its negatives (for instance the lag), however I believe the positives outweigh the negatives, such as the cinematics, new jobs, spell renaming, class renaming, dialogue improvement, and added scenes. Also, the sound to spell sync has never been thrown off in my game, and the screen fitting is not -that- hideous, it's actually pretty good for what had to be done. It's better than having two black bars, that would annoy the **** out of me.

Or, they could have just done like Disgaea and simply resize the boundaries rather than stretch and zoom the screen itself. It's just sloppy. I should also add that the effect lag is not a negative of remaking the title but a failure on the part of the production team. There's no reason for it to be there.

That's the problem with this port (it is a port, not a remake). It was done very sloppy. Besides, with the work we're doing with the PSX version we'll have almost all the features of the PSP version except the extra movies and net play before long.

@MagiTek: I'm intrigued by your claim that your copy of the game has synced sound effects. What region is it, and what version PSP are you using?

I'm not sure where the PSP version was stretched at. I'm just not seeing it. I can put up a screenshot of what it would look like stretched.
