is he getting a cosmetics / portrait change?

I see so many people getting revamped looks

I think ramza should look noticeable different (and not just his armor...?)

Well he'll more then likely have Black armor as shown in his production art, as well, his first battle Ramza should have a cape, aside from that... I'm not sure, what do people have in mind for Ramza's look?

Yes his current portrait says "pure" to me at least.  Now it need to say "i fight for money(and women)".
Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness, bringing torment and pain to others. Oh damned soul wallowing in your sin, perhaps...it is time to die

You are correct... his face at least should be a little bit more rugged, perhaps a bit more sad, or angry.

darker hair? i think facial hair might be too profound of a change

I agree, facial hair does not fit Ramza at all, though I don't think a hair color would make him seem more malevolent either. Basically, I still want it to be recognizable as Ramza. Hmm... a more malevolent look? A different hair style?

hair style could work

what about his armor?

the armor shown in the portrait can say alot

That's true. Should his armor be changed around?

maybe his expression can change slightly

and nothing more

a couple of hair lines and eye / mouth angles can do alot (look at alternate squire / thief / ninja portraits) etc etc

That's certainly true. Ramza is and always will be Ramza, I personally felt his Mercenary look was the least attached, he looks needlessly innocent as a Squire and very confident as a Heretic, but as a Mercenary he just seemed to look, very uncaring, incidentally his Mercenary  Portrait is my least favorite, hehe. So, maybe we should do something to make it stand out a bit more.

Maybe everything about him darker, hair and armor. Not skin tone or that. And a scar.

Why would he have a scar though? Maybe eventually but should it really be at first? Zeakden, yes... I suppose that could singe him a bit (read Mello's scar)  but would that really give him more character?

It would make him look less innocent, like he did now after shedding blood for so many years. You could also base him of Dycengarg's portrait. Take the face and change the hair and features.

nah no scar

thats pushing it

a portrait angle change on his face might be all that's needed, maybe a change in eye brows or eyes

anyone got the special Generic portraits around?

those are a good example of what im talking about

give his face more expression
