Well. I havent been around in ages and I just kinda doodled some hairs last night. None of them are actually complete, and some may completely crappy, but it was a try. But, I was thinking making a thread for hair concepts. That way, one day, we'll have a bunch of hair that we can all decide on and mix and match on different sprites and such. Or, you know, whatever.

Haha, I completely agree about the ridiculousness of the sword summoning people. But, I thought the animation was good and the models themselves looked really close to the psp's cutscenes, minus the whole sketch like look they have.
I actually remember watching Tong's video that he made of Final Fantasy VII-2, which was quite amusing.
He also has a site, http://thetong.exteen.com.
Or, a translated version of the site, http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fthetong.exteen.com%2F&act=url.

Has anyone seen this video before? I don't even know how I came across it. But, I thought it looked pretty epic and worth mentioning here.
I like that sprites were shown at the end lol

lulz. does it really suck that badly? XD
And i used the red from the lluyd portrait. Since it was the only one with red hair that I saw. The only other ones i can think of actually are just pink hair. So, i thought lluyd was the best option. Also, arent their plenty of portraits with sharp chins? Actually, GeneralStrife's Avatar looks like it has a sharp chin.
(offtopic) lol cheetah im listening to them right now as well. Have you heard their new song yet?

Yeah, i actually had to drop the green to one color because i was over the color limit.
And the only reason why i switched the shading from the left to the right was to keep it consistent with other portraits because theyre shading is on the right due to the source of light. I'm not changing the consistency from the game for one portrait.
Also, I need to fix the two strands of hair on the right since they look quite sloppy.

Weeeellpp. Like a dumbass, I Completely disregarded the whole scraping advice you all gave me, I decided to try and fix it as much as possible. The hair has more shading in it and the skin and hair went through a palette change. Also, hair had a few changes and the faces as well (but in fewer doses).
I kinda did this after seeing Lirmont with an edited version of my portrait for his avatar. It made me remember that this portrait was never really finished in the first place.

Regardless whether this sucks or not, I still view this specific portrait as a success for me because I still think it looks decent. But, I would love criticism still. Lol that's always good to hear.
Herp-de-derp. Denial. XD

Sometimes you have to forfeit what it looks like with what will look good in-game.
(also, eyes on the Hayley portrait seem a little odd.)

EDIT:
Lirmont, maybe try something a little like this. My shading is prolly off (never been too amazing with shading), but it seems a little more natural than what you have.

Lmao. Hayley portrait? Is that based off my failure? (offtopic)
(ontopic) And the hair on Raven portrait has weird shading. Looks more like a material than hair. Also random purple pixels outside the outline of the hair.

If you want to play WotL on your laptop at full speed and actually own a psp, then I recommend just getting RemoteJoy. Im currently using that since my psp has a broken screen. Works great! Seeing as I can finally play BbS. I got it the day my psp broke, made me so sad D:
But, also, you still need custom firmware XD

Help! / Rend Skills

I was wondering how the rend skills decide on what piece of equipment they break. I was looking in FFTPatcher and I they are all exactly the same, same formulas as well. So how does the game actually decide whats being broken?

Actually, that's what I'm currently working on now. I thought the same thing. But, the style of Persona sprites are quite flat looking, or at least to me. Some of the sprites use as much as only two colors for shading arms or legs. But, since I'm using them for RPG Maker, they can have as many colors as I want so I adding some more colors to add a little more depth to them.
Actually, right now I'm working on creating bases that will help me design my characters a lot easier. I have the views for the female base right now. The first four views are actually completely custom, so im kinda proud of that. But, the back diagonal view is not, I couldnt seem to get that one right myself.
