Everytime I rip apart my ISO with UMDgen and re-insert the fftpack.bin back into it, FFTpatcher won't patch it. It says its Unreconziged as an WOTL ISO.
Do I always have to have a fresh ISO to patch with?

I don't know, but I keep a copy of the fresh ISO in my FFTPatcher directory for this reason...

Wait a tick.

None of my ENTD changes are happening.
I patch it, then insert my new sprites.

But when I just patch it, my changes work fine.

So you have to choose? Sprites or Patch?

BTW here's a link to my patch. http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmes ... c=42872440
You can post suggestions there or here.

I haven't had any problem doing both.

Well, it doesn't work.
Am I doing something wrong?

The only relation between the sprite files and the ENTD files is that they are in the same folder. How are you importing the files?

1. Use FFTpatcher to patch my ISO.
2. Use UMDgen to extract fftpack.bin
3. Use FFTpatcher to extract the contents of the pack.
4. Edit the .SPR files in the BATTLE folder and the UNIT.BIN
5. Use FFTpatcher to rebuild the pack.
6. Use UMDgen to re-insert the pack.

My ISO is not patched but my sprites are changed.

That sounds correct. Try patching the iso after inserting the sprites.

I get errors after that.
It says file isn't a reconzied WOTL ISO.

Well, then I don't know. Could be a problem with the patcher or umdgen.

I have .236 of fttpatcher and 4.00 on umdgen.
What do you have?
I really want my patch and my custom sprites!

And what does the option ti decrpyt the iso do?

Just a quick question Vanya.

Are you patching your ISO with the patch function or just messing with stuff you can apply with the CHEAT.DB?

Patch. I haven't done a lot other than tweaked some values and swap effects.
I've been busy with my Warrior sprite. But I'll do a little experimenting later this week. I'd do it just as soon as I finish fixing my warrior, but tomorrow is my 3 year anniversary so I'll be doing no work at all.

Congrats on the anniversary.
Well, I made enough tweaks without the ENTD to make the game harder.
If anyone else has suggestions, please post them!

What do you mean by mini-bosses, like dragons in the plains? Are you simply referring to the fact you'll run into dragons in the plains? If so, I suppose it's sort of like a boss early on, but ... it'd still be easy to fight with just chcobos and goblins abound. Had it been something like an entire fight of dragons, I could see that, but then where's the boss?

You know what I mean? Even seeing a Hydra is like, wow, there's a Hydra, but if it's only one of them...
