^He makes a very good point.......I'm not kidding it would make them more interesting a million fold.
Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness, bringing torment and pain to others. Oh damned soul wallowing in your sin, perhaps...it is time to die

Having just found this thread, and still waiting for a Squall sprite (there finally is one, but I'll wait til it is finished), I agree.  Dancer nude sprites, make it happen!

This is a pretty interesting concept on the Dancer job. I might have to edit my patch to accomodate this unique skillset (once I get to figuring out most of the formulas and ranges, and if the Dancer skillset isn't hardcoded like most other jobs).

How about this:

Water Rondo - Raise MP to 9 on Rain Dance, and make it (MA*2*Faith/100) damage. If reflect is added 100% of the time, make the MP cost 14. With 100%, you could sneak in when the enemy mage is trying to buff, position your players to receive said buffs, and feel like a bad ass. If you want to cast it on your team, cast innocent to receive no damage.

Also, Wind Waltz great. Stone Threw tends to be a lot of damage and my poor wizards can't take that sometimes.
Yeah, right

Yeah, well, the thread was already resurrected, and it has some great ideas. Dancers and Bards were really really boring units.

But with modding the Dancer class, I feel obligated on what to do with Bards in exchange (to add some equal, extra flair). Maybe do a complete job rehaul? Not sure what to do for that class, BUT this Dancer setup is pretty awesome as is.

Decisions, decisions...

The dancer needs some classic Sword Dance action! Maybe some inspiration can come from the dancer chick from Lunar 2.
As for the bard, they have a wider array of skills in some of the other FF games. They should get one new skill at the very least: Hide! There is an ASM hack that makes the vanish status not have 100% hit rate. That will make it more like the old hide ability.

Yeah! I completely neglected the classic Sword Dance skill that Dancers had in FFV!

I'll see if 'Sword Dance' can be made by applying the random hit formula with PA or weapon damage (with a really low multiplier to make it less overpowering; not sure if PA/weapon damage can be configured into such a formula). It can probably still work with MA, though, since Dancers have a pretty balanced growth rate for both attack and magic stats but the more traditional route would be to make it into a weapon skill.

Maybe if I dabbled into the 'Sword/Blade Flurry" technique from Lavian in "Mercernaries," something can be done with this...

That would make you feel like a badass. Sweet. My question is do these hit allies as well as enemies(all of them)? That'd make it amazingly interesting.

Yeah, I'm definitely thinking the dancer skills would hit allies and enemies.
Yeah, right

Sword dance could target like spin fist (so it'd move with the caster), but deal weapon damage and persist like all other dance skills, it could also hit twice when two swords is equipped (the ct interval should be chosen with this possibility in mind, so as not to make it too fast). The ASM hack that makes performing status retain evasion, but take extra physical damage like charging status could also be used to make Sword dance both more useful and more of a risk.
