...and what do you guys think would be a better job for him?

My initial idea:

Wayfarer
-A dimensional traveler that has learned to bend the laws of reality through magick.

Skillset: Technicks
-A collection of useful skills picked up during the wayfarer's travels.

I'm thinking it would be cool to give him skills from various A2 Hume jobs that don't exist in FFT. Also, one or two of Illua's skills would be icing for him.

Sample Skills:
Fighter - Backdraft
Hunter - Sidewinder
Illusionist - Stardust
Parivir - Unburden Soul
Seer - Recharge
Sky Pirate - Shadow Stalk
Nightshade - Abyssal Slash
Nightshade - Dimensional Rift

Ideas? Comments?

do you really think that someone like luso deserves to have such abilities? but then again i guess if hes been shifting thru dimensions he might have obtained them...

Anything than making him a complete Ramza clone is good.

The fact that he is a face character is the only reason I didn't punt him.

Even poach doesn't make him that great.

Srsly, Ramza + Innate Poach = Game Hunter??

They pulled that job outta someones ass. It's not even a real FF job!!

At least my idea takes into consideration that he keeps the book after the end of A2. WotL confirms that he can travel dimensions somehow. Continuity CAN be a good think, Squenix!! ;P

Rather than giving him abilities he could never obtain, why not stick to things he could obtain?  Make him a Parivir/Seer fusion as those are the signature hume jobs from FFTA2.  You can't really mimic the animation of Magick Frenzy completely I don't think, but you could at least attempt to emulate it. The Geomancy formula would be a simple way out.  Doing something like the double casts in the Mercenaries patch might work even better.  Hm...  Give him -ara spells that have him follow up with a Jump attack with no bonus for Spear?

Zozma obviously doesn't think too much of Luso lol.

I did consider using a mix of unique jobs from A2. Problem is that most of the jobs are just mixes of classic jobs. Parivir is just a Samurai from FF5/Tactics Ogre. The Seer's skills are just spells anyway. Magic Frenzy can't be easily emulated if at all; not without a custom formula. When I saw that I thought it would be better to give him some of the unique skills and spells instead.

I like how Wayfarer sounds, but I think I'm going to change the skill set name to 'Gnosis' since 'technicks' in FF12 refer to non-magical abilities.

Dimensional Traveling is concerns, in my opinion, characters like Bartz and Gilgamesh. The catalyst for Luso's traveling is in fact a Grimore. While it is in fact the passing of dimensions, it doesn't sit right with him falling under said rank. If anything he's a Wayfarer, but also an auto-biographer of sorts. If you want a title, Litterateur.

Litterateur n.: One who occupies himself with literature; a literary man.

Skillset: Technicks
-A collection of useful skills picked up during the wayfarer's travels.

I'm thinking it would be cool to give him skills from various A2 Hume jobs that don't exist in FFT. Also, one or two of Illua's skills would be icing for him.[/quote]

If we're going to bend the laws of the land of Final Fantasy Tactics A2, why not opt for Adelle's job Heritor? They knew each other well, and it would reflect on Luso's character if he carried at least one move.

The only reason I skipped taking skills from Adel is that her abilities are for all intents and purposes innate/genetic abilities that I don't see anyone that isn't 'special' being able to use.

Also, Illua's skills are implied to be from a grimoire as well.

I do like Litterateur though.

I don't think its a bad idea. Anything beats him merely being a clone of Chapter 4 Ramza!

I agree Luso does need a change of abilities as does Ramza. Here's what I think his job should be using Vanya's and Silvas's ideas (I added my own ideas too).

Luso
Job: [can't think of a good name]
Skillset: Grimoire of the Rift (maybe... I think it's too long) or Grimoire
Weapons: ninjato (ninja sword), katana, staff, rod
Armor: light, heavy, mystic
Accessories: all
Equip Shields?: Yes

Abilities:
Various FFTA2 Hume Abilities. Include Magick Frenzy if possible. Illua's abilities would be cool too, but give them a high JP and MP cost and a charge time. That way they aren't abused.

I don't think so. Luso didn't have access to technicks. The FF12 cast did. But if that's what you guys like... go for it.

That is just the FF12 generic term for any skill that isn't a magick, a summon, or whatever the hell they call limit breaks.

Yes but if you don't wanna be pulling the job out of your ass in turn you might want to stray from the distinct differences in the games.

I think the wayfarer or whatever is the best idea for him. It will at least make people want to use him.

I think it should be a synonym of the word "various".

Ex. Diversity.
