Changing spell animations?

Sorry if it sounds like a noob question but i can't figure out how to change spell animations. I can't find an option for it in FFTPatcher or any explanation on how to do this elsewhere.

Main reason I'm trying is to remove all spell animation/replace them with something short to speed up the gameplay.

Is that the "Editing Effect File Graphics" one? If so where can i find out how to extract and reinsert the file?
