Fixing events or removing them all together.

Next time I play FFT, I want the events to be:

Fixed/Sped up
7 (77.8%)
Removed
2 (22.2%)

Anyone done this yet? I was planning on removing the non-battle events completely (including events that happen right before or right after battles and the intro first battle).

Or I would fix the events so that times where there is just text on the screen it moves much faster, including patching up times where the text is extremely slow (like 'little money').  With this, I'd also fix the text that is unquestionably wrong like "Defeat Dycedarg's elder brother" but not "don't open that" unless a significant majority agrees on one fix.

I'm not really leaning either way yet, but I thought we needed a good event fix to go with the patches that "fix" game mechanics.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

After playing through the game multiple times over the last few years, the story part isn't really all that important to me. Nowadays I usually just play on an emulator with the game sped up.

I'm fairly intermittent in my replays, usually visiting other games in between playthroughs, so I tend to really enjoy the story every time.  That said, the game with no events at all would be like a super shot of distilled battle heroin and would be awesome.

I vote for fixing, but since I'm not having to do all the work, I say do both and have two different versions!

Heh.  I'll do a fix version first, then a remove event version next.  Let me know of any problems with what ppl actually say, because I often miss that stuff.  So far all I've seen is a need for speeding up the narrative text.
