Help! / Problem Applying Patch
July 31, 2012, 02:13:25 am
Hi there,

Came back to hacktics for the first time in quite a while, and thought Celdia patch sounded fun and wanted to give it a try.  But I'm having some trouble applying it correctly (and I've tried with 1.3 and it doesn't come out perfectly either, so I think it may be how I'm applying it).

I can play the game, but the only sprites to show up are Ramza and Delita, for every other character I just see a shadow on the square they are standing.  All abilities seem to work just fine, and character art for the new sprites shows up in the formation screen but not in battle.

I got a fresh ISO to try patching, but the same problem.  So I don't think that's the problem, but I could take the file from my real copy of FFT if you guys think the ISO may be the problem here.

I wonder if it has to do with how I'm applying the patch.  When in PPFOMatic I pick my two files, but when I hit Apply it just thinks indefinitely and when I force the program to close it gives me what I've described.

Any thoughts are appreciated, and Celdia even without being able to see anyone I like the feel of the patch through the first few battles, so great work and thanks!

If you want a game with an indepth (and excellent) story then Xenosaga's definitely one to consider.  If you're not all to interested in story then stay the fuck clear of it.

Like Philsov, I also really enjoyed B0F.  Haven't played it in years, so can't say much, but it was a fun one with a decent enough little story.  Some unique battle  system quirks that were good.

Disgaea is a fun enough strategy RPG, but the battle system isn't anything too exciting a lot of the time.  Still I definitely thought it was worth the money time.  Good characters, and a good game overall.  Although the second game was pretty annoying...

I've only heard good things about Shadow Hearts and Shin Megami Tensei, but haven't played either series.  Anyone have opinions on these games?  I guess Persona 4 that philsov mentioned is part of SMT...
For the SMT series is there an order you have to play them in, or are they all separate games?

And they were much longer last season before people had figured out the best damage setups.  It wasn't played as fast, but one of my matches was 11 videos I think, so nearly two hours, and another was about 10 videos.  We've had enough of the really long ones.

Quote from: "philsov"And, imo, yes, it should be this way; it's a conceptual thing.  Wouldn't you expect a career-long knight to have different stats than a career-long summoner?  Some weak-ass caster will have withered armed by that time while the knight wouldn't know the difference between Fairy and Golem.

Quote from: "R999"Actually no I would not.

Someone who sits at a computer all day should definitely be just as strong as someone who works out everyday.  Obviously.  philsov is so dumb...
