Final Fantasy Hacktics

i really want to play fft on my laptop so i can download the patches, and maybe try some of my own eventually. but im not even sure where to start. so could someone give me a link to a place where i can download everything ill need??? id like to just start with being able to play the original game itself (preferably with instructions as ive only ever used console) and if needed a way to download patches id really like to try call of power tonight.

ive been looking for a site to download the psx or epsxe emulator. i downloaded the psx but cant seem to find a way to open it.
idk im new.....as in very new....to all this lol. right now i just want to play the game, then later id like to hack it. but for now just downloading and playing ps1 games would be awesome. if someone would explain any part of this to me thatd be great.

im making this job for ramza (using your ramaza cape sprite(if i ever get to hack)) and i was wondering if its possible to give a unit dual spears? i think itd be interesting.

ive been reading up on all this modding, and believe me im definitely a noob, but i really want to make my own jobs, and maybe even characters. basically anything and everything. but i have a problem. i can only play the downloadable psn version of FFT for the psx. meaning i can only use my ps3. so is there even a way for any of this to work for me???
