So, I decided to bring up this job mainly because I found it lying around without reason. Basically, the skill set goes like this:
------------------
WEAK SLASHES:
-------------------
Fire Claymore (10)
Ice Rapier (10)
Thunder Cutlass (10)
-----------------------
STRONG SLASHES (1.5x damage compared to weak slashes):
-----------------------
Earth Slammer-5% Don't Move (22)
Wind Dancer- 5% Don't Act (22)
--------------
FINISHERS (2x damage compared to weak slashes):
---------------
Demon Sword- 15% Blind (45)
Holy Sword- 15% Blind (45)
Ultima Explosion- 30% Death (99, and 3x damage)
--

I need some help balancing the MP costs (the numbers in parenthesis after the name), and I'm not entirely sure how sensitive stat growth is.

I sugess : 8 MP for weak slashes , 20 MP for strong, and demon sword/holy Sword 40 MP and the ultimate one : 99 MP.  75% death is very high to me...

MP grows very slowly (1-2 MP gained each level in vannilla 3 is rare even for a black mage)
Hope thats helps.

I thought so too, but for the extreme mp costs for a knight-based mp growth, I thought it might balance out.

A knight barely get 0-1 MP by leveling. For the 150 mp one using no robes will be imposible to use even at lv 99.

That's why I took your suggestion and lowered it to 99, also it's meant to be that way. Heavy armor should be an impossibility for anyone who didn't train as a mage heavily before becoming a mystic knight.

Thank you, and one last thing... You need to hex edit to change the class names, right?

You aslo can change it by using FFTactext to change em. Still has some bugs.  Dont mess around BATTLE.BIN and all the WORLD1(2)(3).BIN ect. because u run the risk of not be able to pacht the work you did into your FFT file.

After opening the FFTactext, import your FFT file in. Go to *text* and a list will come. Chose Quick edit.
There will be options like *Job description/Jobs names/Skills set Discription. Put your description u need into em. And save em into your Hacked FFt file.

Hope you will get whats you want  :)

That did help a good bit, and I'll assume the tools you speak of is in the appropriate section. I also went ahead and forced the dark knight to use insane amounts of MP for his moves, even the mp stealer. By insane, I meant 20-35. :P

~EDIT: Did you guys ever post a pure fft ISO?

None can do it because of the rules. You will not find any non hacked FFT ISO here. If there is one, thats is not allowed.
Aslo none can tell others where to find one even if u know where to get it because of the rules.

Most game hacking sites uses the same rules.

Custom job class [in-topic discussion].

But if you've ever played FFV, you should have a firm idea what it is.
