I still don't know after all these years, because apparently no one can be bothered to test...
Which version of the duplicate bug was fixed? Or was it both?
Version 1: Requires Dual Wield, only works on dual-wieldable items (fewer than those even). You have to pay to acquire the item. Only 1 time per unit per Fitting Room entry.
Version 2: Requires nothing. Works on any weapon or shield. The item is automatically added to your inventory's stock. Only 1 time per unit per Fitting Room entry.
Instead of trying to explain the methods myself, I'll just link a video which covers both:
I tried both methods on my vanilla unpatched UMD version of WoTL and neither of them worked for me. I then proceeded to try it on a modded, patched version (European) and it also did not work. So I'm guessing that they patched both versions of the glitch.
Thank you, I was wondering if fixing one would fix the other, now that means it is potentially the case. Because I know a lot of people never heard of the 2nd, better duplication glitch, it might have never made it to Japan; I don't know.
Well, I'll check the Japanese version of the game as well then for posterity. I'm guessing you're trying to develop an ASM hack to prevent the use of the duplication glitches?
That was the idea, I thought I'd investigate a bit before jumping into it, but now that it's been over 2 weeks I don't know when I'll look into it.
I really don't see the point of testing any JP version though.
