Slight update

I think there is a problem with the exporting/importing bmp in Shishi (I am using the one from FFPatcher Suite ver 0.492).

So what I am testing now:

1. Export the bmp of an original iso via shishi
2. Check the transparency in-game (still working fine)
3. Import the bmp back to the iso via shishi (note that the bmp file here is not edited. it is the same one being exported on the first place).
4. The transparency now got messed up.

Help please?

Thanks for the extra enlightenment on the "Quick" matter. This brings me to another question:
When you said pop-up, is it possible for me to add a popup for "Golem" even if it is not a status?
I believe the "Quick" pop-up call a certain part at FRAME.bin (I saw Quick listed there).
Aside from the Golem pop-up, I am planning to also add a popup for Morbol.

I have searched around but has not yet come to a result. By chance, do you know any leads?

Edit:
For the status, I have found BigManStan thread. This left me the "non-status effect text" a mystery.

PS: by the way I am a huge fan of your Item Workbook Compilation.xls  :D

I must admit that the "glitch" occurred to me was simply my false understanding on how it works originally. I forgot the fact that Golem HP was calculated based on the caster MAX HP... my bad.

As for B) I haven't test a situation where Golem effect takes place on a unit and then having it Charmed to the opposite faction. I will check it later.

What is left outstanding with my Golem project is the missing transparency issue http://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=11755.0
If you guys have the knowledge and would be much obliged to answer that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for understanding my question. So you mean even the yellow square only highlights Ramza, the mechanic still allow Golem to cover the whole party? Correct me if I am wrong but as far as I am aware Last Song adds Quick which is not listed as status effect in FFPatcher but still gets the yellow square highlight for all allies.

I can't find the original PSX description of Golem, but (and not to be a dick here - just remember it for the future) this level of fact-checking isn't hard. There is a glitch associated with Golem, in that the AI tends to rate its removal as top priority to the point of casters using weak melee attacks to remove it instead of big spell nukes to just straight up kill people, but the spell itself is meant to affect the whole party.

Thank you for reminding me the description which I am actually aware of however I personally could not simply accept to relate a description text to a some sort of Golem mechanic that I am curious of because as I said:

The yellow square that I am talking about is for example when Bard sing Last Song - the whole party member get a yellow square highlight below their feet meaning that they will receive the effect (and the animation).

On the other hand although it is not part of my question, thank you for giving me a head up on the AI Golem glitch but I am pretty sure to have read it on a different thread.

I am very sorry if my explanation regarding the actual question does not actually reach some people understanding.

Upon my research on messing up with the Golem ability, I figured that there is a totally obvious glitch or I just do not get along with enough golem back in the day...

So on a brand new ISO I have Ramza cast Golem on him. When the other party members being hit, the golem hand appear on them as well and took the hit! If Ramza died, the effect still takes place at least until the golem hp in one of the party member reach 0.

Am I being unintelligent or is this really a glitch? Seriously, when Ramza about to cast Golem the yellow square only highlight him instead of the rest of the party... :shock:

Sorry if I am doing a Necropost but I am totally clueless whether to start a new thread or not  :shock:
If I should create a new post do let me know and I would be happy to do so...

So I am with Verdeni and like him I assume that the transparency for the Golem hand and some other things (summoning, jump into water, teleport, hitting target) seemed to be missing. What I am doing is simply exporting the BMP of TRAP1 from shishi > edit them with Graphics Gale > import it back to an original iso via shishi.

The golem hand that I was talking about attached (so not the golem effect animation that descending from the sky but instead the one that came out from the ground to take the damage).
I am 100% sure that I am using an original iso and I did not mess up with anything apart from what I mentioned above.
I have provided the screenshot that I was talking about including my TRAP1 file from shishi.

Let me know if you need any further information like my iso (where should I upload it etc).

PS: Yes I am trying to make a Kawarimi/Mokuton (body replacement technique) for my ninja.

Hello again,

Some of the item icons/graphics are recolors from FFT series (I forgot which is what). Others are slight adjustment of existing ones (e.g mythril vest, platina helmet).

The In-Battle Graphics:
- Hammer: It is a different version of Lijj's hammer but since I am creating it based on his, I dedicate the credit to its owner.
- Whip: Same as hammer but I do not remember who is the owner (could it be Jumza's?)
- Flail: Idea from "Rem Re: Zero". I wish I can create her sprite based on Xif's maid sprite hence giving a nice screenshot. Unfortunately I am still a looong waaay to go...
- Cloud's Fusion Swords: I am aware that In-Battle it will flip but moving the edge point a bit to the middle let it slightly less noticeable (for me at least).
- Glaive and Halberd: I hope you like them. Like the fusion swords it will flip in game but do enjoy it as your eyes pleases you.
- Axe: Whatever...

The rest of the credits goes to their respective owner.

Well actually I have been condensing my existing items into alternate palettes of the same icons again and again... I guess I have to do it one more time and freed up some space  :( I admit I have twisted fetish over new items...

Thanks for letting me know that it is replaced by other essential stuff. In case you manage to remember what it is exactly, please let me know. Maybe one day I might want to take the risk to mess with it.  :lol:

So does this means that I cannot even use A3 and/or B2? I mean they shows up fine before and during battle. Will they go glitchy in other part of the game that I did not know about?
By any chance did you know where/when that 2 letters of hiragana graphic will shows up in-game?

I am trying to make use of the hiragana section but ended up finding Ramza's chapter 1 portrait.
It came in partially like puzzle from top to bottom A4-B3-C2-D1 and it will refer to the palette assigned to that particular item (palette is currently set to 0).

Are there known way(s) to increase the current item graphic slot without glitch?

Thanks to the people in this community who always help or at least point to the right direction.  :)

Questions:
Is there anybody here know the location of stone graphic that flew midair before it reach the target?
I have read through the forum about throw stone being hard coded but does this includes the stone graphic as well?

Been through Effects (E000 - E510.bin), Wep1&2, Eff1&2, Trap1, ITEM.BIN, FRAME.BIN, all the "Other Images" in ShiShi but I can't find it or probably missed it. I even check the Zodiac.bin thinking that it could be one of the frogs lying there.

I forgot where I kept the screenshot but if I am not mistaken, the Shuriken thrown by ninjas is not from Wep sheet or from ITEM.BIN. So I am thinking that is there any other sheet that I did not check happens to contain this "Stone" and "in-battle Shuriken" graphics?

Thanks for the answer Elric but I am still wondering if the arrow series below appear in battle or not. Also which one belongs to Crossbow 00 and 03.

By the way, nice hammer sprite you got there  :shock: I was try making one but to no avail  :(

Help! / In-Battle Weapon Sprites - Longbow & Crossbow

I am in the middle of in-battle sprites palette editing and...

1. The arrow series between the shields and staff, will they appear in-battle or is it a dummied content like the dolls on the upper left corner?

2. If they do appear in battle. Did I group them in correct order as the colors indicate?
I can see clearly that the first longbow series has a different colors of arrows compared to the second series. But the crossbow's has the same arrow colors. Has anybody tested this and find out which is what?

I see some pictures on this link but they doesn't show whether the arrow series belong to 00 or 03.
