I only recently started being active again on the thread about a week ago. I use it as I see fit. I'm not nearly active enough on the thread to be of any help. But that's completely irrelevant, and has nothing to do with people being jerks or sarcastic to others. Like General was with his"request: do it yourself" I can't be the only one who sees that as rude and ridiculous to say on a REQUEST thread lol.

Help people be able to help themselves, yes agreed. Never said otherwise. I clearly said dont be a sarcastic jerk. Just because you know something they do not, doesn't mean they are incompetent or stupid, or haven't already spent hours trying to find the answer on their own. Before Lydyns tutorials, this was a common example:

new guy reads an entire sprite tutorial and changes the knight sprite with Shishi. But the sprite is still the default sprite in formation and job change. New guy goes back to tutorial for clues, then tries searching for an hour, and gets stuck. He posts a question explaining what he's looking for.

Reply 1: If you actually took the time to read the tutorial you would have known you can't change the formation sprite or job change sprite with shishi. It clearly states that it changes ONLY the BATTLE SPRITES. Read carefully next time.

Reply 2: The answer to this already exists, do not post new threads like this, it wastes forum space and generates junk threads.

Reply 3: You need to read the forum. There is a lot of information, and you can't just learn it all in a day dude. For formation sprites and stuff, you have to edit the data the UNIT.bin and WLDFACE.bin which can get kinda tricky. There was a thread somewhere that tackles how to do this. Again just read the forum, you'll learn.

*Now out of those 3 replies, which one was helpful? the correct answer is NONE. Each answer just insulted the new guy, and their information is contains only partial truths, and just barely at that.

Truth is, even though they tried to break down the website into sections like Community (which is where the forum is), Downloads, and Resources, these are horrendously out of date, with broken links, downloads of non-updated sprites, and download links to completely absent tools or files. Sure, it does take time to learn, but what the new guy above wanted to know? Anyone who knew how to do it should've been able to write up a decent answer in 1 paragraph and links to the tools in 5 MINUTES.

I think that took me roughly a week to fully research and figure out because of how scattered and crappy the information was 6 years ago. During which time I was ridiculed, like the new guy above. Now I'm not complaining about ffHacktics.com, and I am not faulting them at all; I'm a Network Security Technician, and I know running a website is no walk in the park. All I'm saying is, it shouldn't have to experience such mistreatment, nor should any other person on this forum. If you come across someone's post in any thread asking a question, and you know the the full correct answer, then you can provide it, or links to it. If you aren't going to answer them, or you don't know the answer, and you insist that you want to reply to them still, then practice good manners at least, and don't post anything resembling the 3 examples I posted above.

No Nyzer, it was not in response to your post. You were perfectly fine with your original response except you clearly did not understand what I meant with the Eidolons. You assumed I was refering to Lucavi size sprites, and I was not. There was a time I used to be able to find a sprite that was similar to Rydia, in terms of clothing style, but her skin, clothes and hair were different shades of icy blues, and her hair style was different. It was a human sized Shiva sprite. Can't find it anymore, but anyway that is what I meant.

As for Ifrit: https://imgur.com/dSnHGFv or download attachment. It was done by Seushiro

You are amazingly talented. I have made dozens of my own sprites, but none are good enough to post, because they are all barely more than "cut and pasted" together from other spriters work, then recolored. I could never make one from scratch, but I know that your Fran and your Sydney had to have been, or if not, then so close to built from scratch that it doesnt matter lol. Amazing

I don't post much, but I've been a user for 6 years and put tens of thousands of hours into FFT, FFT modding, and ffHacktics forum, and I've been modding in general for more than twice as long as that (I'm 28).

One thing that has infested the forum is a VERY disrespectful, arrogant attitude and among modders of all types that is directed towards other users that ask for help, make requests, or post new ideas and suggestions. They are generally treated with contempt, and since modders often see them as nothing but an irritation, they often try to make them look stupid with sarcastic, harsh remarks.

request: do it yourself

What's the name of the this thread again..?  -_-

Oh, and the users that ask/request something that already exists in the forum(somewhere)? Just kindly redirect them, I don't care how many times it's been posted somewhere else. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that navigating scattered cluster-fuck forums sucks, especially ones with a completely worthless search, cause the one we have doesn't even pick up words of attachments. I can type the exact name of any .bmp, .spr, or .rar that I know exists somewhere, but it not get included with the search results.

Spriting / Re: Kagebunji's sprites- Moving on...

Love the new Rydia concept, more mature and she is very stylish in her more adult stage.

Gives me an idea. I thought I saw a "regular sized" sprite of Shiva somewhere that was kinda style in the same manner, as far as the "drape" style of clothing goes, but obvious everything was a shade of icy blues.

Anyone know where I can find that? lol so many good sprites out there but are soo barried.

Wonderful work on Fran. amazing really. I tested and it works really really well

Spriting / Re: Mograine_D sprites, and reworked ones

Amazing work my friend. I particularly like the Wanderer. If you think you can do a Female Wanderer, I'd have the perfect set for my new Acolyte class I'm making.

READ THIS FIRST
I'd like it to be noted that this is not instructions for a step-by-step telling of the story, but rather, a tool that I think could be a valuable reference. Use whatever you will, or cut out whatever is too much; I only wish to contribute and hopefull some of this will be of use. Attached is my work in a better wordpad structure, but otherwise:

Delita's Story

Prologue

The story should be told from Delita's perspective, as the historian obviously views Delita's story as at least slightly less significant, and cares more about the secret of Ramza's tale. By having the narrative be told from Delita's view, we can get a whole new view on his story.

Instead of the scheming "do what has to be done, underhanded or not" kind of dark hero, who cares only about himself and seemingly cuts the bond he shared with Ramza, we can show that, inside, its exactly the opposite. He never cut his bonds, or stopped caring, in fact, it is because he cares so much that he is willing to be the bad guy if he has to to protect his friends and change the world for the better.

It begins with a paused event scene as Delita is sitting at a desk in a room, writing in his journal; (he is dressed in a brown priest robe; later the room is revealed to be a room inside the Church of Glabados).  Like the paused cadet scene, white text rolls across the screen.

    1st Entry:
"My sister and I were brought to the Gariland orphanage after our parents had died from the black death. The orphanage runs on the charity of the noble House of Beoulve, which also heads an order of knights called the Northern Sky.

   2nd Entry:
The orphanage is frequented by members of the Northern sky, always looking to conscript new workers or foot soldiers. But the other day, the head of the Beoulves and leader of the Northern Sky, Barbaneth Beoulve, came in to visit with my sister and I.

   3rd Entry:
Apparently, he too had lost someone he loved to the black death, and showed great empathy. He seem very strong, but he also was just as kind, as he offered to adopt us and raise us in the Beoulve family. I eagerly said yes, as I thought it meant my sister could live a much happier life than we could ever have elsewhere.

   4th Entry:
I was such a naive child then...

Chapter 1

An event battle involving a young Delita and Ramza with wooden swords in hand about to square off in a sparring match. Standing watch over the match as arbitrator is Zalbag, and far behind him is Dycedarg and Barbaneth, along with Teitra and Alma watching as well. Player controls only Delita, and there is only 1 spot to place him during formation phase.

    Zalbag:
"Alright you two, let's try not to injure each other this time. As always, the one to force their opponent down is the winner.
Zalbags leans in:
"(Father is watching, and you will both recieve your first assignment at the academy tomorrow, so you better look sharp!)"
"Alright, are you both ready? ... Begin!"

The battle starts. Delita is first, but just outside of walking distance to Ramza to be able to attack on the first turn, so this serves as a teaching method; 4 hits on either Delita or Ramza will cause them to be defeated, so Delita SHOULD just wait and let Ramza come to him. The player must win to advance the story.

As the battle ends, the scene continues with a defeated Ramza kneeled and frustrated at his loss.

    Ramza:
"Damn! I thought I had you!"
    Delita:
"You might have, if you hadn't been so impatient. I knew you'd rush me, so I waited to counter your attack."
    Ramza:
"Hahaha, so smug. Still, your skill is really something Delita. You might be a knight before me! Haha."
    Delita:
"You really think so? Hehe, maybe, but don't sell yourself short Ramza. Your much better than you think. Besides, I want us to become knights together."

The two friends maybe do a fist bump, or shake hands. Barbaneth nods, Dycedarg closes his eyes.

    Barbaneth:
"A fine job, the both of you. You have done well to come this far. Ramza. Delita. Know that you have honored the House of Beoulve, and that I am proud of you both.
    Dycedarg:
"You spoil them, father. They will grow into conceit if they do not learn humility. Especially Delita."
    Barbaneth:
"That's enough Dycedarg! You need to-"
Delita Kneels
    Delita:
"No, Lord Barbaneth, Lord Dycedarg is correct. I am not worthy of praise yet, but I will work harder to earn my standing, and do my best to-"
    Barbaneth:
"Delita, how many times must I ask you? Please, call me father. Do not listen to Dycedarg, he is too harsh sometimes, but he only means to bring out the best in you both."
    Delita:
"Yes, my lor- .. uh, I mean.. Yes, Father."
    Ramza:
   "Delita..."
    Ramza:
   "(You did great.)"

The scene ends. The entire rest of the first chapter should start with the academy scene and the first battle in Gariland, all the way up until Teitra's death at For Zeikden. The "Guest" character in the player's formation should be Ramza, and Delita is controled since he is the main character. Most of the original chapter revolves around the two of them as the main characters, and I can provide tweaks here and there to the script to put more focus on Delita.

The only real reason Ramza felt as the main character in the original was the historian's introduction of him, the battle at the monestary, and Delita being the "guest" in the formation. With the above scene replacing the Monestary battle, and making Ramza the "guest" instead of Delita, we effectively acheive that main character feel as Delita with very little actualy work.

Sorry, I did not see suggestions section, but I this post would be ok because I strongly wish to participate in the project! :D

PLEASE READ FIRST: The latest posts from the dev's of this patch are only a few months old, and Elric stated he fully intends to return to this project after Jot5. So no, I'm not necroposting, I'm simply putting forth ideas; is it not the best part about our lovely forum? The free exchange of ideas to create new ways to have fun?
Of course it is, so no, I will not be responding to anyone who tries to be all like "Hey, hate to burst your bubble,
but this is dead, or on hold and has been for awhile, so its pointless to post in this thread" -BS lol. It's never pointless, cause you never know, and it doesn't hurt, so cram it ney-sayers.

I've seen a battle sprite of Titan, but I think it would be really great if we could get all the Eidolon battle sprites:

Ifrit
Shiva
Ramuh
Salamander
Sylph
Faerie
Lich
Cyclops
Odin
Leviathan
Zodiark

I don't know how feasible this is, but if a Titan Battle sprite can be made, I don't see why these couldn't be done. I am making this request because I'm making custom events for FFT in that, in order to gain each of the above summons, they must first be defeated in battle. Also, I'm exploring the potential for a seperate mod that does also requires them to be defeated in battle, only they are added to Party in Formation, instead of in battle summon abilities. I'm good at creating events, Hex editing, and I've made new sprites using existing models, but something like Eidolons from scratch is WAY beyond me. PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE :D
