Okay, so I've decided to release the alpha version w/o adding Zodiac, Karsten, or I: I just don't feel like doing it right now.

If you do decide to play it, don't expect much.  :?

I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

In a nutshell:

Generic Job Stats/JLvs changed
Blue Mage replaces Mediator; Red Mage replaces Calculator
Shields changed
Accessories changed
Holy Sword has MP Cost
All Swordskill includes low level Holy Sword/Mighty Sword and has Destroy Sword
MonsterMA/2, MA-based Monster Skills Y*2 (did not change Hydras due to MA*MA formula in skills)
Brave Skills Removed (Scream is still there, but no longer boosts Br)

details at: http://auritech.fantopolis.com/viewtopic.php?t=208
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

for poeple that like to print on top of their cds or make covers, i've wasted 20 mins to make a cd cover and a pic to be printed on cd too.

I might use that for the final edition, but not for the Alpha Version.

Hmm, I can't quite download the patch, I get a page full of xml, or something with a lot of data, but no patch to be seen. Also, if I may suggest a more original logo and case? There's quite a few art works out there, as well as fan art which might suffice.

save that page that appears. it's the real patch.

concerning arts and such, you might be right but i didn't want to bother more than 20 mins for the covers :D

Hmm, currently my computer is really having a lot of problems and won't even open the patcher or the sprite editor at that, would it be possible to place the SCUPS and Battle.bin patched here? I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause anyone.

EDIT: Nevermind, everything is back and working again!

Just out of curiosity, who is interested in seeing this patch completed? I know I haven't been here in a while, but I've lost my motivation and found other hobbies (namely reading).

Or is this patch going down a path it shouldn't be taken on? I think we're going overboard on the whole item renovation project.  There are only so many slots to fill, and even without correcting weapons and body equips, the list was nearly filled.

IIRC, the point of the patch was to balance the game and make it more difficult. Should there be something else being done?

Hmm? About there "not being enough room" that is only for the moment, it is a slight glitch in the FFT Patcher, there is at least known to be 91 (in hex) slots, which is certainly much more then enough.

?

Not if we tried to give every item its own unique ability like we had been. No matter, I shall fix that problem.

Vincent I had seen how u were doing Red Mage for the VK Project. The best thing I could recommend to duplicate Double Cast if ure trying to is trying to make Non-Charge a Inherit or a Support Ability.

*shakes head*

Red Mage has Short Charge, and that's quite enough for a mage.

Download .fftpatch file, download FFTPatcher from here

http://code.google.com/p/lioneditor/downloads/detail?name=FFTPatcher-v0.271.zip&can=2&q=

Once you have that, use FFTPatcher, open the patch, go to PSX tab and choose to patch SCUS_942.21 and BATTLE.BIN

If you don't have those files you will need to download either CDMage or CDProg and extract them from your FFT file.  You do have FFT  on your computer, right?

Where's karsten?

I get the feeling I'm flying solo here on this one.  Unless karsten wants to do something with this patch, its done too.  I'll be resuming my work on FFT Sigma privately, but I don't see much point in this patch other than...?

Plus, all the good ideas from this will inevitably influence the making of FFT Sigma.  Since I'm doing so much with it I'll need to play through it at least once before I release a beta. My theme for that game is to make every class, every item, every monster, etc. useful for at least most of the game.  Also, Calculator will be replaced by something be it a Necromancer, Blue Mage, (Red Mage is still a bit too redundant for my tastes. Perhaps as a special class), Mystic Knight, whatever.

The only reason I see for this section to stay open is as an archive of information debated.
